OGN-R PilotAware / Re: UP-OGN working superbly

Hi Keith
I will ask around at sherburn, but there are quite a number of committee members and of all ages, Some with open arms and some with dificulty with new advances in technology. But I do agree with you as there has been an near incident with Burn Gliding which is south by about 3 miles with winch launch upto 3000ft. Burn would be a perfect site too.

Keep up the good work. Sorry for not responding to some of the forum posts but I'm always here listening and learning.  ;)

OGN at Pockington?
Grate flight Sunday. Approximately 15 miles away all the glider popped onto display with SD, I currently have FLARM Red Box installed and at 15 miles it displays nothing!! until you are with in 3 miles or less to the Gliders. The New OGN upgrade is working brilliantly.

Thank you to Pockington for upgrading there OGN RX TX Great work from the PAW team.  ;D

We were surprised to read this statement, which does not appear to include ourselves, as we have never had any requests or contact from the CAA

I'm Not sure you are aware, but there is a survey about this and PAW is mention on what device is currently been used. It may help to fill in the survey.,-says-CAA/?catid=4294967430

Just check you have installed the bridge correctly, as it is easy to not get it over the pins correctly (I have dun this twice) with the same result you have got....

Hi Richard

Could you please post a copy of your home page from PilotAware?
Shouldn't be related to the redbox, but a possibility

Hi Lee
All working now but I have not had chance to test fly dew to Aircraft Annual today. I applied the latest update you have release this week Fitst then connnected succesfully to SD using PAW option. I'm not sure what the problem was.

Technical Support / A Bug or Not S/D to FLARM Connection
« on: July 16, 2017, 07:10:30 pm »
Hi Team,
Came across something new  today. Its the first flight I have done today after the new SkyDemon and PAW updates. I set S/D to PAW connection. (original connection type, FLARM) Sadly I could not get it to connect to S/D (No GPS) so reverted back to FLARM connection within S/D settings, 6000 Key, and all worked again as it should. I tried it few times, same result.

Just do be clear on my setup. I'm using FLARM RedBox also for my  GPS source. OK Looking at my setup, I am using FLARM so It should be FLARM selected in S/D. but PAW is the WiFi connection to the Ipad so should it be PAW in the S/D settings?

This may be a Bug? Its not a problem for me but I just thought I would make Lee and the team aware of it. Sorry if you already know about it.

Ian (ibelmore)
I'v been doing a little home work for you.....I have tried to Attach my settings for the TT21 but the file is too large can you PM me you email and I will send them on to you .... as earlier in this thread it seems your wiring is correct and the correct USB to RS 232 are being used. This is all good.
The TT21 Version is also correct as it is the same as my TT21. and is what I updated to after sending back to Trig. (there is a newer version now but the one you have is OK)
The Bound rate I have may be different to what you are using too. As my GPS is direct into the TT21 and not through PAW (But it should just work the same. Try different Bound Rates)
Another little thing.... The GRD from the GPS (PAW) is connected direct to my GRD BUSS and not to pin 4 or 6

I hope this helps ?

Reading above it sounds like you have everything correct....... Thinking....... :o

When you did the computer test did you get the green flashing light in the USB cable? My cable flash green when connected to PC or PAW.

........ still thinking.......

It is looking like your firmware version (possibly) I will also check my version at the weekend to see which I have. I had a similar problem as it did not display the GPS  position. Another thing to check is, can you see your own aircraft in the PAW traffic table displaying ACS-- that will indicate that you are transmitting ADSB?

I apologise if you have done this. But when you updated the tt21. Did you update the tt21 head display too?
I have the same setup as you describe but I can not remember about pushing the FIN button twice, I will have to check the next time I'm at the airfield. Another simple thing that may have been overlooked, do you have a GPS lock or connection to satellites when seeing the ---- ? Sorry if you already Covered this.

General Discussion / Re: Stratux Case
« on: May 30, 2017, 08:07:16 am »
I made one last Week too. You have to move the hole for the PAW Bridge slightly and make a new hole for the ADSB antenna lower down and add an extension patch lead for it. It all works a treat. My GPS is internal with the covers removed also fitted with the Tuned 1090 Mhz antenna for the ADSB.

Hi, the case is available on amazon. You can use it without the fan. You may have to rethink the small ADSB antenna mounting but I'm sure it's possible.

The New version of Sky Demon has a radar on it. I like that Idea. So just use tablet and not another device !!!
