Hi Richard
I’m not too far away from you. Just at Stainland, Halifax.  I can do the test for you but I’m not sure  when I can get over to you. Can you send me your contact number via private message.

I have no idea, I have never seen this.
The date/time is set by the GPS, so how it ever imagined that it was 2023 confuses me.

So let me explain the fix.
Firstly the clock is monotonic, which means it only moves forward, it cannot move backwards, which is a real issue in this instance.
The easiest method is to do a factory reset, which is quite easy (if you have not done before)

1. Connect an HDMI monitor and USB keyboard, you can remove all other dongles.

2. apply power to PilotAware, at the splash-screen hold down the shift key
once the shift is recognized, you will be asked if you want to re-install, answer yes

3. the re-install will take about 15 minutes, please ensure power is not removed during this period.

4. after re-install complete you will need to re-enter your configuration details - license hexid etc

I can put a fix into the product so this does not happen again, but for now this is the best solution
So thinking a little further on this, were you using a different GPS source by any chance ?
I cannot see how the date of 2023 would have been returned from the GPS, the messages have a checksum.

I will put a fix into the next release so that the date is no longer monotonic, and will be set by the GPS respectively

Sorry about this Richard, I have never seen this before.

Thx
Lee

Ok all up and running again. To Sort out any unknown problems I decided to do a full system file reload. All compleat Ok.

Lee, you asked if I had swapped GPS receiver?  Yes I did over to the mouse gps.  It must somehow messed things up ????

I will monitor to see if it happens again, but so far so good

Many thanks.

OGN-R PilotAware / Re: Demodulator is <x>sec behind

Not sure what this is in response to ?
I dont think this is related to the thread title
Re: Demodulator is <x>sec behind
can you clarify your point a little more, I don't understand I'm afraid

I think you are asking why the OGN traffic disappears from your display?
What range are you from a Groundstation when this happens ?
Are you simply on the 'edge' of reception from the ground station ?

Lee,
Sorry if i have misunderstood your Original Question I should have posted a New topic.!
Yes all the glider traffic appears and disappears all at the same time, all the glider sights with traffic at the same time. It is as thought there transmitters are all tuned off at the same time. I still receive ADSB, and Mode C,S in there formats are still displayed and do not disappear from screen. Or in-other words while displaying all traffic, Gliders, ADSB, Mode S,C only the Glider traffic disappears. I can be at different range when it is happening. I first noticed it being south of Brighton, Not sure of distance to Burn, Pocklington, Ruff without my map to hand. I did put it down to being out of range but it seems to happen when closer to a gliding site too. ( I still put it down to a range issue, It was just when you asked the Question above it made me think.

Lee,
I think I understand what your asking.... When flying the gliders become visible on SD then keep diapering from the screen for a few seconds then re-appear on screen again. I thought it may just my PAW loosing connection to the server then picking it up again. It seems to be all OGN traffic only, from all stations at the same time (Pocklington, Burn, Ruff,) as I can see all OGN traffic at the same time when Central the the airfields. All other traffic is still displayed OK ( ADSP, Mod S etc.)

Hi Keith
Yes I would love to get a PAW OGN at Sherburn too. I will have a chat with Richard Maxted to see if we can organise another presentation.  They have a 50” screen at the flight desk and a screen in the club canteen/bar. I think it would be great to to see live local traffic display on them. Is it something you are working on at the moment?

Ian Thank You.  I should have posted the whole question I have received Sorry here it is But I think its the same answer

" Regarding PilotAware Uplink I have got confused. This is how I thought it worked

Our colinear antenna receives the weak 868.3 MHz signals from the flarm aircraft and then re-transmits the information on 869.5 MHz using the PAW antenna.(as well as sending the information to the OGN servers)

I did not think it also received signals from PAW aircraft

I should be very grateful if you could explain"

I may have missed something, so just a quick Question to answer someones inquiry.

Does a OGN Ground station setup with PAW receive a transmission from an aircraft with PAW?

Grate, Well done Keith.  :D

Paul, good info. Yes Richard Maxted would be a good contact, he is a very helpful. I will chat with him next time our paths cross. I will try to get a screen shot of the range of the gliders to demonstrate PWOGN.
