If it had been a one off I would suspect jamming, but to have this on 3 occasions on 2 days a month apart in a well frequented piece of airspace made me wonder if there could be a problem specific to my Rosetta?

I can only suggest GPS jamming. As the phone may have access to lots of constellations, it may service or dodge the jamming...

Not sure what constellations the mouse can see...

Are you 100% sure that your ICAO code is correctly set?

Is there a strange setting in your minimum speed for transmission?

I hate Windows 11. I tried rebooting the computer and all is now OK. I'll say it again Windows is rubbish but I'm trapped in it as going over to Linux is too much of a hassle to get new programs etc.

Technical Support / Rosetta "seeking satellites" near Brize Norton
« Last Post by Joe M on September 23, 2025, 04:17:52 pm »
Today (23rd September) I flew South West from Enstone, with my Samsung tablet running SkyDemon/Pilot Aware helpfully showing me traffic until I got to Charlbury when I got the dreaded "seeking satellites". My phone (using location services) continued operating SkyDemon normally.

I am raising this topic because the last time I flew the same thing happened in the same place. On 22nd August I flew from Enstone to Brimpton, near Newbury. I go seeking satellites around Charlbury going South. Having set up again when I left Brimpton I then got seeking satellites around Wantage as I returned to Enstone.

Any ideas gratefully received.

OGN-R PilotAware / Server down?
« Last Post by peter.seddon on September 23, 2025, 02:03:14 pm »
Opening up ATOM I can only see my station in blue. No other stations no aircraft shown. Is it me or is there a problem, not had an email reporting a problem with my station and the OGNR home screen is reporting aircraft seen.

Technical Support / I can see other aircraft but they can’t see me

I am operating a PAW Rosetta in a Skyranger with internal antennas. Everything on the home page is ‘green’ with a good GPS fix on 5+ satellites. Trouble is, other pilots who use PAW report that my aircraft does not appear on their SkyDemon. I’ve confirmed with a few others who have been in the air at the same time as me. I’ve even hotspotted to my phone for iGRID connection but it doesn’t make a difference. Anyone have any suggestions? The Rosetta box is under the dash but the GPS mouse is on top of it with a good view of the sky. The internal antennas are mounted vertically on each side of the window. Any thoughts welcome. Thank you, Gareth

PS We have a Mode-S transponder fitted and can see ourselves on ADSB exchange/safesky.

To close this query, I can confirm that replacing the SDR has resolved the issue, and for purpose of completeness (answering my own question) the antenna plug simply swaps out with a firm click

The only downside is I’ve now gained an additional white LED from the replacement SDR
