Steveu,
To avoid confusion, I think some clarification is needed regarding your slightly confusing comments:
"... so a lot of stuff (certified) will screen you out...."

I think you meant to say that airliners and "high end GA", equipped with very fancy and expensive integrated Traffic displays, MAY screen out SIL/SDA=0 ADS-B data.
Most "normal" end GA (our aircraft types), equipped with lower cost ADS-B In receivers, will still see and process SIL/SDA=0 ADS-B data.
Also, our certified Mode S/ES transponders will still interact with aircraft that are equipped with TCAS..
Hope this helps..

Hi Bruce,
Connecting a GPS signal to your Trig transponder will give out an ADS-B Out capability.
This will allow other aircraft, which are equipped with an ADS-B IN receiver, to detect you.
It will complement your current PAW/FX transmit capability...

Are the aircraft depicted in your screenshots coming from FX or Safesky?
Or can't you tell which system is providing those aircraft targets?

General Discussion / Re: Map of ATOM stations

Thanks for the replies.
I have looked further into PWSPITFIRE site reception using "playback.pilotaware.com" and my ADS-B Out transmissions were detected on one particular flight.
However, it seems a very insensitive site. I was at 1500 ft and had to be within approx. 5 NM miles of PWSPITFIRE before it picked me up.
I was flying to the south and southwest  of the ATZ.
Maybe an antenna or receiver issue?
By comparison, site PWEGHJ was picking me up about 30 NM away on that flight..

Thanks for the info and screenshot.
During a recent flight to the IOW quite a few stations picked me up, but for some reason, my transponder transmissions weren't picked up by  PWSpitfire (Goodwood), PWEGHN and PWIOWPARA.

According to the screenshot of operational stations you took, they should be working, unless I am mis-reading the colour dot status?
Perhaps they were down on the day or not up 24/7?

By the way, the website playback.pilotaware.com is a very good resource for checking transmissions. Well done the designer!

Does the playback.pilotaware map show the status of operational ATOM ground stations?
Seems to be quite a few in my area that are not detecting my transponder at all (other ground stations are)
Or is there another resource that shows the ATOM station status?
Thanks
Tony

Thanks,
The Popham area and south towards IOW and along the coast ( east and west).

Is there a map available showing the location of the ATOM ground stations?
Just checking my transponder and trying to understand what I am seeing with VECTOR.
Thanks

General Discussion / Re: Section for Rosetta FX questions
« on: October 08, 2024, 08:31:26 am »
There was a question posed by a SkyDemon user (on that forum) regarding loss of SD internet connectivity when using the FX.
SD uses "in-flight" internet connectivity to show winds aloft, latest weather etc. within the SD program, and that loss of capability would be a shame.
That got me thinking if there was a forum dedicated to the FX....

Any plans to add a new section to this forum for prospective Rosetta FX users to ask questions?
Or is there a FX forum elsewhere?

Technical Support / Re: Groundstation Playback - Altitude
« on: May 17, 2024, 07:01:13 am »
Hi Lee,

Is that right that PAW and FLARM "radio" transmissions (not via ground station re-broadcast) send GPS altitudes and not barometric altitudes referenced to 1013.2 HPa?

You may need to connect the "other" wire from the 3.5 mm plug to airframe or audio ground.
Also, sometimes a 600 ohm resistor in the feed to the Trig ext audio input is required.
You could check with Trig if this is required.

Sean,

Are you getting textual warnings on SkyDemon for aircraft that you believe could cause a collision risk?
Also the screen display of risk aircraft also change to red if SD thinks there is  a risk.
Just wondering if there is an altitude mis-match somewhere between your SD noted altitude and what PAW is telling you regarding detected aircraft?

General Discussion / Re: grant for EU member states available??

This is a UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and Department for Transport (DfT) funded "project".
You will have to ask our own National Authority if a similar rebate scheme is available.
I think that is unlikely....
