Software Update 20180129
« on: January 30, 2018, 07:52:25 pm »
A club member kindly pointed out that there is a new software update 20180129. I promptly installed it.
I can find the update, but I have searched around and I can't find a page which tells me what changes have been made.

The PAW update page
http://www.pilotaware.com/software-update/
states
Latest Software release
20170721

Could someone point me to the page that tells me what changes have been made in 20180129.
Thanks
Chris

Thanks a.alexeev.p
Good of you to reply.
No big changes then.
I haven't flown with it yet, it was grey, wet and windy here.  :(
Cheers

Can someone give me a link to where the new software is?

All I can find is 2017 information, and no link to a download page.
http://www.pilotaware.com/software-update

But this just gives a pdf of installation instructions, and some info on the 2017 update.
I was looking for the USB download version.

Thanks,
Rog

Roger

Its on Page 38 of the operating instructions

Software Upgrade by USB Memory Stick.

To make software upgrade easy, from release 20160820, new software will be available to upgrade PilotAware by USB memory stick. To do this download the new upgrade file (pilotaware.pgp) from the pilotaware.lode.co.uk website onto a clean USB memory stick formatted to FAT32 and with no other files on it, as these may get corrupted in certain configurations.

Ah, found it:
http://pilotaware.lode.co.uk

It has been loading for an hour now.  How do I know when it is finished?

Addendum:   Ok, it was finished, but did not tell me.
I think the iPad wifi had slipped back to my house wifi, and so the PAW could not give me a message of completion.

Thanks,
R

.
I see (hear) that the audio commands are much quicker than before.
That is an improvement...

When I do an update, I just watch the Wi-Fi, when it comes back up, I reconnect then click on the home page button.

I also heard a rumour that there was an update from a random comment in one of the threads.  This very forum seems to give the impression that the latest software is 20170619 (top right of this screen)  I seem to remember that the user manual says that updates will be promulgated on this forum, but obviously not.

The updates are listed here

Emails are sent to forum members, and licensed owners, but unfortunately our email ISP is throttling, so we have lots of emails in a backlog I'm afraid

Thx

I have installed the latest update and have noticed error messages in the logging... Should i be concerned about these?
Please see attached screenshot of the error messages.

Thanks for posting Jamie, and for anyone else's benefit
These messages are monitoring the interfaces and indicating when it appears that the interface has not received any data, or the data is invalid.

Are you operating indoors or behind pilkington glass ?
This will usually degrade GPS signals considerably

The logging is generally quite verbose, and is really overly noisy
For system health status please refer to the web homepage where the red/amber/green column indicators are located

Thx

Hi
Just downloaded the latest software.Home page now says "PilotAware version (20180129) License expired". I don't think it was quite ready to be renewed and I haven't had a reminder. Also homepage shows pressure altitude box as red. I've tried rebooting etc with no success. Any suggestions.
Many thanks in anticipation
