Cannot find WiFi HotSpot
« on: January 11, 2017, 07:45:05 pm »
I have my own PilotAware built with:
- Raspberry 3 Model B (with internal wifi)
- PilotAware Bridge PA013945
- PilotAware.20161201 software on a formatted 16 GB SanDisk Ultra
- Nooelec NESDR Nano 2
After starting up no PilotAware-B827xxxxxxxx hotspot is built.
For example Stratux software succeeds to give a Stratux hotspot, so the wifi works.
Please help.

The problem will be the Raspberry Pi 3, that model isn't currently supported.  You need the v2 and a plug in WiFi dongle for it to work.

Check the known good hardware section of the forum...

Thank you!
I was already afraid of .......
Do you know if in the near future the v3 will be supported?

I'm not part of the development team, although I'm sure someone will be along soon and may be able to give you an update on that.

Hi Dro,

I dealt with that very point yesterday for another home builder. Please see here...

.....and Lee's post following.

No support for Pi3 anticipated in the immediate future, I'm afraid.

Peter

Hi
There are a few issues to be resolved on pi3.
We are very busy on other projects at the moment.

The recommendation for now is
Pi2 v1.1 or v1.2

Thx
Lee

Thanks everybody.
Fortunately, the cost of an extra Raspberry 2B in comparison with the rest of the cost of flying is not the end of the world.
