Loss of Connectivity

Hi there, this is the first time on the forum so please excuse me if I am not fully up to speed.

I have just received the Bridge unit and installed it along with the WIFI Dongle and GPS Dongle (not yet received the Rx ADSB)

I have completed the configuration as per the manual and theresaeems to be a couple of problems.

First is the flashing lights, the manual says that the green light of the lefthand pair should be flashing in a group of 4. Currently this is flashing 1 red and 3 green which I am assuming is because I haven't yet installed the ADSB RX??.

Secondly when I connect to SkyDemon it either says that it failed to establish connection with the Butterfly Connect Unit or connects and then loses connection.

I have snipped a section of the loogging screen and atachedit if it helps. Any ideas would be gratefully received. Many thanks, Jim

Can you post a screen grab of your Home and Configure Screens please. This will help us to see what is going on.

1. What are you using to power PilotAware (specific device information including current rating at 5.0v) ?
2. What is your navigation device Android/iPad/ ... ?

Hi Jim
This is almost certainly the issue I'm afraid.
A regular USB (eg Laptop) is only rated at 500mA, the quiescent current for PilotAware is usually around 800mA, and tiny peaks of around 1.2A when the transmitter pulses.
This will pull the power rails if not enough juice, and enought to corrupt the state in things such as the WiFi dongles.
