I've been thinking about the audio traffic warning that could be implemented. Are you thinking the raspberry pi would generate this through the audio output of the Pi or is it something that should be generated by SkyDemon(with gentle persuasion) and the iPad, then all the warnings can be transmitted from the one product otherwise there are going to be audio cables everywhere.

My preference is for SD to produce the audio. I link to my iPad via Bluetooth (when I remember or when I don't have my PFX's linked to my mobile in case the radio's go on the fritz again) and SD give warning honks and hoots to grab attention. I had assumed playing with the traffic simulator that SD would flag up a traffic alert in the same way that it does with terrain etc.

Another option (or to do as well) is to do what they used to with the PCAS boxes (like those from Surecheck and ZAON) where you linked through the headset line off the intercom, through the PCAS and then to the headset so warnings were injected into the headset earphone side alongside i/c and radio. That would make it 'most' compatible but would need to ensure there were no matching issues which may cause problems with the intercom and other headsets connected. There would also need to be some way to adjust the volume levels too.

I've tried two PA boxes by driving up the road and SD gives out good audio/visual warnings to my  iPad/iPhone when a collision is anticipated-which in my case , the warnings would be linked to Headset audio  when flying.

Another vote for audible warning via SkyDemon here. I hate cables in the cockpit.
