PilotAware Get Together
« on: July 15, 2016, 04:00:40 pm »
I was thinking of suggesting an aviation event at which us Aware Pilots could merge and see lots of like minded pilots on our screens . Originally I thought that the Coventry Wings and Wheels event on 24th July would be good but then found out that Coventry doesn't allow microlights and its just been CANCELLED anyway.

However do you think that its a good idea and have any suggestions for an event at a central location that accepts Group A and Microlights into which we could all Fly in?

What do you think?

And I can make it on a single tank of fuel. Not sure what to do about this 'orrible weather though! Mind you I have done a fair bit of flying in the rain recently.  :-\

Sherburn sound good. Anyone else interested? We would want to choose good weather if possible. Isn't Sherbourn on the Laa 70 th birthday route?

Hi Keith,

According to the April 2016 edition of "Light Aviation" LAA mag, the first stop-over for the LAA 70th Tour after departing Duxford will be Sherburn-in-Elmet, scheduled for Saturday 27 August.

I'm hoping to do all points North of Shobdon, either returning to Shobdon or carrying on if the WX plays ball. At least that's the plan at the moment!

Does this sound like the start of a plan.
All meet up at Sherborne on 27th August whether you are on the rally or not?
Help cheer our boys on?
All in favour say Aye.

I'll be in Blois, but suggest you publicise this through the Microlight and Flyer forums if you want a decent turnout.

Hi Keith

As you say, depending on weather, Peter & I are hoping to make down.  Raymac beat me to it as I was just about to ask if it was still on as I had not seen anything on the other forums and very few responses here.
Anyone else from the team going to make it.

Regards
Alan

Unfortunately I learnt today that my aircraft G-MOOV will not now be available on the day so I need to look for an alternative if I am to make it. Disappointing as I set it up. Sorry
