GA APPG Airspace Working Group
« on: April 07, 2018, 11:21:42 am »
Have just read the GA APPG response to the Brize Norton and Oxford Airspace ACP consultations via their twitter feed.

Delving further to the work program they have identified for their Airspace Working Group, I noticed Keith Vinning’s inclusion in this group. Hearty congratulations Keith, this gives me confidence in the program that appears well thought through and will hopefully bring to bear an innovative approach to the airspace problems that beset the UK and the use of affordable EC as a strand in the solution.

I wish you and the APPG every success in its endeavours.

Thx,

Chris

Thanks Chris.

I have been very enthused by the APPG and its core members. The leadership provided by Grant Shapps is very good and very inclusive. All forms of GA are included and we are all encouraged to speak truth to Authority. Whilst PilotAware is not an approved piece of equipment by the CAA and EASA, the work we have been doing on interoperability, the enthusiasm from our supporters and the impressive take up of PilotAware over the last 24 moths (1800 units) has given us a seat at the top table(s).

PilotAware and the our supporters view is now represented by personal invitation at the UK CAA Electronic Conspicuity Committee, the EASA Conspicuity Forum and as you mention the APPG. If anyone has any points that they want raised then we can now bring them up to the people who matter and not just get second hand reports regarding what is really going on regarding Electronic Conspicuity at the highest level.

Very Exciting

Keith

Congratulations to the PAW team.

From viewing  information on the Traffic page over the last two years.

I am amazed by the number of very expensive helicopters an small private aircaft,
that fly low level around my area of coverage that are only CS equipment in poor visibility.

Even the Air Ambulance, Police, and Gas Rig helecopters are only mode CS.
