Garmin 496 and traffic data

I have a Garmin 795 fitted in my plane. It  would be great if the 795 could link to my Pilotaware Rosetta and show the traffic on the 795's traffic screen.

I know this is an old thread, so I wondered if there had been any progress on this recently.

Unfortunately there is no willingness on the part of Garmin to allow this
They use a proprietary protocol which is neither public, nor will they share
