Filtering out high level traffic
« on: May 02, 2017, 03:10:59 pm »
New to this, running Pilotaware with Skydemon, searched the forum and can't find answer. Is it possible to filter out high level traffic from Skydemon display as obviously have no interest in a commercial airliners at high level when flying at say 3000'

Almost, You can more that a set distance from your altitude.

In SkyDemon, go to 'setting' > 'Navigation' and scroll right to the bottom. Third item from the bottom is the option to exclude traffic more that x thousand feet of you altitude. Set as you wish.

bj,

You have presumably discovered that Mode S and Mode C are filtered within PAW from the configure screen, both for relative altitude and 'Range'. Be aware that Mode C/S is 'off' by default, so you need to switch it on if you want to use it. If you also run a transponder, you MUST select the Mode CS + Filter (Beta) option to filter out your own transponder. If not, you might like to start with Mode S, then add Mode C later.

Any probs, we're here to help!

Peter

If you haven't already done it..

To see bearing less targets in SkyDemon, in addition to Peters instructions above, you also need to enable it in SD just below the altitude range you just set.

Not generally in favour of 'flaming' but in this case - what he said!
