Pi 3 Support

Pi say the 3 is 100% backwards compatible with the 2B

As the 2B has been superseded .. any plans to support (and I have a spare 3 I'd love to use)

Also Pi 3 has

802.11n Wireless LAN, Bluetooth 4.0

Thus would be one less dongle !

Unfortunately the Pi3 is NOT 100% backwards compatible with Pi2B.

Given the B+ is on its way out .. Any plans to add support for the 3?

We wouldn't recommend the use of a B+ as it doesn't really allow the user to take full advantage of the PilotAware software.

We are always keeping a close eye on what Element 14 are doing with the Raspberry Pi and other stuff and we act accordingly. Unfortunately when manufacturers say that their equipment is backwards compatible is it not necessarily so. This is the case with the P3. Significant porting and rework is required. If it were a case of a simple swap over to P3 then we would do it at the appropriate time. Unfortunately it is not that simple.

Please point me to the article where this is stated, I will definitely add some comments !
This is in no way true at all.
If it were, you could take a Pi2B disk and put it into a Pi3, and everything would work the same.

In fact, this is not even true would you believe, for the Pi2B V1.1 to the Pi2B V1.2
a lot of disconcerted people on the forums who had written drivers and had special kernel configurations were caught out by this.
