SOLVED- dodgy suffix!-Updated software, now using 192.168.0.100 to access WiFi

Tried to update software via LAN to my router(192.168.0.1).  Then connected via WiFi but no interface on 192.168.1.1.
So reconnected via LAN and opened 192.168.0.100,found interface,said update found so updated it.
Now WiFi interface found on 192.168.0.100
Seems to work, does it matter?Have I messed it up!?

Hi Pete,

Don't worry I don't think you have messed up 

The setup you have with your router, is actually exactly the same as mine at home, so let me explain.

PilotAware has two network interfaces,
a wired interface ETH0
a wireless interface WLAN0

By connecting your wired interface to your router, PilotAware has used the wired IP Address 192.168.0.100
It will still be broadcasting a Wireless IP Address of 192.168.1.1

I presume what you have done is to connect your tablet to your home router NOT the PilotAware HotSpot, and hence
you can connect to the wired IP at 192.168.0.100

If you connect to the PilotAware Hotspot, you will see that it will be back at 192.168.1.1.

So I am pretty sure in the description you gave, your tablet is connected to your home router and not PilotAware

Hi,yes I understand about the two interfaces, but now  in aircraft, if I try to connect to 192.168.1.1 it says:  the server could not fullfill your request because the resource specified is unavailable or   nonexistent.
192.168.0.100 works fine . Scaning for shares shows pilotaware on 196.168.1.1 though,??

Now I'm realy confused! 2 nexus 7, one sees it on 192.168.1.1, the other won't but does on 192.168.0.100 ?

Hi Pete,
just to be clear, both of these devices are connected to the
WiFi : PilotAware-xxxxxxxxxxxx

If so, something is not right, because the Wifi Soft AP in PilotAware uses a subnet of 192.168.1.xxx, and allocates IP's in this range also

OK, getting there. If I type 192.168.1.1 into one of my Nexus 7's it changes to http://192.168.1.1/cgi-bin/webproc and gives the error report
 If I type 192.168.1.1 into my other Nexus 7 it changes to 192.168.1.1/index.cgi and gives the interface.
Why does it add this suffix?
Typing 192.168.0.100  also gives interface?
Both connected to pilotAware- xxxxxxxxx

Try prefixing with http://
So http://192.168.1.1

Thanks,sorted now, seems the suffix had become stored in the suggestion history on that particular device.
Still able to access via WiFi on 192.168.0.100, not sure I understand that but not a problem!
New software much better with mode s, now rejecting ground txpdrs,thanks!
