ipad message seeking gps satellites
« on: September 10, 2015, 01:02:51 pm »
I have just set up my unit which I know works as Lee tested it for me at the show, however when trying to use it on ipad with sky demon I get the message seeking gps satellites and nothing further!

I know the sky demon and my internal gps is ok because if I go into connectivity and turn off flarm iPad and sky demon work perfectly fine.

Any ideas from anyone please?

Have you definitely run the CollisionAware app and switched it ON using the slider before launching SD?

The steps you need to go through in order are:

Boot up box
wait for WiFi SSID to show up.
Connect to the PilotAware SSID and ensure it's connected
Run the P3I app
Slide the thing to switch on and make sure it says Connected
Run up SD and connect using FLARM

Mine pops up a brief 'seeking GPS' message but usually for no longer than half a second or so

Perhaps connect an HDMI TV to the box and watch the console messages as you do each stage - you should see a message that says 'SkyDemon Connected' or similar - I can't recall the exact sequence but I believe it reports when the P3I app connects also.

if it is seeking for more than a couple of seconds, there is a problem, no need to wait any longer.

OK just to confirm, so in SD you have gone to
setup->Connectivity_Options
    - Selected Flarm
    - Entered Air Connect Key value = 6000

Selected 'Fly'
Selected 'Use FLARM'

Thx
