Attaching Rosetta to aircraft windows.
« on: September 04, 2018, 12:24:38 pm »
I purchased a Rosetta at the Sywell Rally and I am wondering how to fix it to the aircraft window using a sucker. The screw socket on the rear of the Rosetta looks like an M6 thread but is finer. What is the best way to fix it?
Many thanks, Chris

I think it's a standard camera tripod thread.

As Paul said... which makes it 1/4” UNC IIRC. Alternatively you should be able to find a supplier on e-bay for small suckers with ‘knobs’ on top which would fit into the 4 holes on the back of the case which are designed to take a slot-in bracket fixing.

Sorry, I can’t help with the size at present as I’m stuck on the ground in Worcs waiting for this damned front to clear so I can get back to Scotland.

I bought the bits to do a homebrew Rosetta upgrade during a temporary stock outage (really not worth the hassle).
BUT, the 'Rosetta' case came with these which are surplus to requirements, it gives either a GoPro mount, swivel tripod mount or ?10mm? ball holder (like on a RAM mount):
