iPhone 6s not working?
« on: December 02, 2015, 10:52:11 pm »
Hi I have an IPhone 5 which works fine. However a friend has a 6s and is running software version 9.1.

I have found it was not working with the 6s and have upgraded to the latest PilotAware version in case this was a known issue.

To confirm issue
Both phones connect to wi-fi hotspot
PilotAware App on both show as connected
Settings on Sky Demon identical - use Flarm selected.
My phone finds the Gps source and works - the 6s fails to get the information to connect to the device.

Anyone able to give some help on this as I cannot think what else to do at this stage.

Richard

Just checking, you aren't trying to connect both phones to the PAW at the same time?

I can confirm we have had an iPhone 6s working fine with this device.

What happens if you connect 2 devices at the same time (or try to)?

Hi folks -thanks for the replies. Yes we can cannect to Wi-FI on IP -device shows as connected on iPhone.

Only using one device at the time.

Strange as we have tried a few times and I connect with my IPhone 5s easily.
6s looks fine in that app shows connected on phone but does not work when you open Skydemon and select farm option in go flying.

Hi Thomas,
Still not sure if you answered my question, I specifically want to know, can you connect to the web server 192.168.1.1, when connected to the wifi
I understand you can connect to the wifi, I want to know if traffic can pass between the 2 devices

Finally, isit the same version of skydemon on both ?

Thx

Update:

I have an iphone 5s with 9.1 installed, and I tried the following
1. Connect to WiFi
2. Start Safari, browse to http://192.168.1.1:2000

This then streams the Traffic messages to Safari, so this is what should happen

Code: [Select]
PASS?AOK$GPGGA,123806,5223.531,N,00127.452,W,2,05,1.0,90.5,M,-34.0,M,,*49
$GPGSA,A,3,20,02,10,13,04,08,07,23,,,,,1.00,1.00,1.00*0A
$GPRMC,123806,A,5223.531,N,00127.452,W,0.000,0,061215,,,A*75
$PFLAA,0,-17401,3698,9356,1,4CA51D!AFR1059,146,,200,,8*52
$PFLAA,0,29720,-31870,5089,1,40097E!SHT3F,152,,180,,8*0E
$PFLAA,0,-11203,52709,9501,1,400CD5!EZY82GN,323,,205,,8*00
$PFLAA,0,5926,67739,6895,1,AA7BA7!AAL47,334,,226,,8*16
$PFLAA,0,122884,-23886,11482,1,400A7D!400A7D,335,,206,,8*4E
$PFLAU,0,1,1,1,0,,0,,*63

This means that the iPhone is able to connect to the Socket on PilotAware and read the traffic data
Can you describe what happens for you ?

Thx
Lee
