Well my mini to std HDMI adapter finally turned up. As expected, got the same results as corbo, nothing on screen (not even a cursor) regardless of whether I use a known good card from another PilotAware or a fresh formatted MicroSD card with the installation files on.
If the installation files can be updated I'd be happy to try it again.
