I'm 99% sure this isn't a Pilotaware issue but I thought I would post this problem and solution to what I experienced yesterday as I'm sure there's many who use this Android ecosystem.
Last week, my Galaxy Tab A7 Lite SM-T220, which has worked flawlessly with Skydemon, prompted me to update to their 'Samsung One UI 6.1' Like a mug and risking missing a security update I went ahead with no issues!
I flew with it yesterday though and suffered the tablet regularly dropping the WiFi connection to the Rosetta, everything from around 5 to 15 minnutes of running it would disconnect and, in the air, turn off the WiFi. I had to go into the settings and switch on the WiFi to reconnect to the PAW. It would do this whether the iGrid hotspot was connected or not.
Today, I could recreate the issue on the ground, the tablet would regularly drop the connection to the PAW and connect to the home WiFi (which was stable). I tried changing numerous settings in the tablet including wiping the cache partition to no avail, and on the PAW like channel number, output power and wifi from 'G' to 'B'.
Finally, I changed the DHCP settings in the tablet for the Wifi connection to the PAW from 'Dynamic' to 'Static' (accepting the ip address it was already given) and the connection held up solidly for 3 hours. (Switching it back to dynamic brought the issue back BTW)
Obviously something in the Samsung update has broken something to the extent it doesn't like the DHCP from the PAW.
I hope this helps someone else to avoid my 'wasted day!'
