Bug in Vector when using MacOS Safari browser.
« on: October 28, 2022, 05:35:35 pm »
I'm encountering an annoying bug in the Vector display when using Safari under MacOS.

The 'Go' button appears to disable itself after the first press, meaning I have to refresh the page and re-enter the ICAO ID every time I wish to change the transmission type filter.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Hi Graham,

I'm using VECTOR on MacOS Ventura with Safari version 16.1, it's working fine for me.

Does the demo aircraft 403BAE render for you at page load?

If so, can you PM me your ICAO so I can try and get it to fail?

Thanks,

Ashley

Hi Ashley,

Further playing has revealed that the bug only presents itself when the date filter check boxes are displayed. Hiding them again by clicking the calendar icon brings the functionality back!

Can you see if that's the same for you?

Hi Graham,

I'm not sure why it's causing your VECTOR to fail. It's working fine on my end.

Can you try opening it up in a Private Browser with Cache disabled?

Thanks,

Ashley

Hi Ashley,

I've just tried again in a Private Browsing window, with caches emptied, with my adblocker both enabled and disabled. No difference - it works fine if the date select check boxes aren't displayed, but once they are both the 'Go' and Base Station/Rosetta controls are disabled.

You're not going to believe this, but I'm seeing exactly the same behaviour in Firefox as well!
