New Pilot Aware upgrade (Bearingless targets)

Altomar718:
Hi All
A quick question please?
With the new update from Pilot Aware using the Atom Grid for bearingless targets, how does that relate to the integration with Sky Demon regarding the on screen display, verbal warnings etc.
Also, in the setting on Sky Demon - NAVIGATION OPTIONS > OTHER TRAFFIC > SHOW BEARINGLESS TARGETS ........ Does this have to be turned on now, after the PAW update please?

Thanks in advance

Chris

Admin:
There was an enhancement to the bearingless target filter, but no functional change in its setup.

To enable, it must be selected in the PilotAware->Configure page AND enabled in the EFB (eg SkyDemon) This will allow the EFB to display bearingless targets

For Audio, Skydemon does not output bearingless targets, but the PilotAware audio will provide warnings

thx

Altomar718:
Thanks Lee - Does the option have to be tunred on in Sky Demon (bearingless targets) do you know please :-  NAVIGATION OPTIONS > OTHER TRAFFIC > SHOW BEARINGLESS TARGETS (or is that what you mean by EFB)

steveu:
SkyDemon is an EFB (Electronic Flight Bag).

Lee's reply is general, so in this case, the EFB is SkyDemon.

Yes.

Chris,

You need to enable ‘Show Bearingless Targets’ in SkyDemon if you want to see the visual alerts on SD for Bearingless targets - which comprise a coloured warning circle (indicating relative degree of risk) together with an indication of the relative altitude of the aircraft concerned. You then need to carry out a visual scan to look for the aircraft, especially if it is close to your own altitude and showing Amber or Red.

SD will also display the aircraft’s registration if you have this setting set to ‘On’ in SkyDemon/Settings/Navigation.

Hope this helps.

Regards

Peter
