“Waiting for Device”
« on: October 03, 2019, 09:21:33 pm »
Hi,

I have the new Rosetta but recently it keeps saying “Waiting for Device” it then comes back, a few mins later I see “Waiting for Device” again.

I am not sure if this is a problem with my phone or Rosetta

I’m using a IPhone 7 Plus, with Sky Demon.

Thank you,
Kiran

Hi

I followed the advice on the link but when I went into the configure page mines already set up as pilot aware (update). Someone at at your stall at the LAA Rally helped me set it up.

But it’s still saying waiting for device randomly whilst flying.

Kind regards

Kiran

what does the pilotaware status page show while you are seeing waiting to connect?

Hi Lee

The device is in the plane but I will grab it this week and send over to you. Is it ok to send on here or via email?

Thank you.

Email, is best, or if too large, then share it in dropbox or another cloud service
Thx

Are your power levels reporting good?

"waiting for device" was one of the 1st signs I was getting when my power cables were starting to break down.

Rosetta seems even more sensitive to the quality of the power supply than the classic used to be.

I experienced this on one occasion. Had some time to spare so looked in the status and the the GPS was showing a good number  of sattelites and no fix. ..Left it for 10 minutes ..Same.

Rebooted the Rosetta and on coming up it immediately received a fix and we were good to go.

Hi Vic,
Do you have PilotAware(UDP) selected on the Configure Page, or is it set to AUTO ?
AUTO, may not work well with some NAV Devices

Ah, I think I have posted somewhat Off topic. My issue was with a "GPS Signal Lost  ..0 Sattelites found" message.  Connection to device is fine with AUTO on my Android but a fellow group member could not connect to my rosetta until he switched to UDP.
