Thanks for letting us know. Good to hear your SDR is fine. I did have a NooElec fail after 2 years, but they are normally pretty reliable.

The perceived wisdom was that having a short coaxial cable between the RTLSDR and the Pi was good so an active USB cable would the trick.  I have done this at my site and it works well. However, for new sites, I use HDF 400 or RG 8 coax cable proven to work up to 16 Metres and give good service.

The advantage of this is that the system is passive all the way up to the antenna. Also using N-type connectors is easier to fabricate.
