I've also experimented with such a "UPS hat" and it seems to work.

I've come across a few cases which are tall enough (or have the expandability) to accommodate the battery and board but they are few and far between. And most of them don't look very nice!

I fitted it in a HiFi-Berry Raspberry Pi case (€ 16,49).
Now I'm ready to test it in the air. On the ground it works fine.

Worth mentioning on this post the Anker USB pack recomended comes on sale on Amazon from time to time, I picked up the other week closer to £20 instead of £30 it usually is.

Though I do wonder if its overkill as leaving it on most of the day and I still have 60-80% left lol

Alan,

You can use the smaller 10000 or 13000 versions. Either will last a'normal' day's flying but IMO better to get home with plenty left than to run out near the end of a trip - especially if PAW is providing the GPS source for your Nav System (though of course we all carry and use a paper chart as well don't we  ;)).

Good advice on the Anker Packs - I saw them recently at £20 too, though it never happens when you actually want to buy!! :(

Regards
