Technical Support / Re: Broken bridge

I had the same thing happen on my Rosetta. Two of the ground tracks came off but two stayed on so I was able to solder to them. The centre pin track came off but I was able to solder a bit of wire to the through plated hole and connect that to my new SMA socket.

This was the extra bit for the static IP address.

I edited the /etc_org/dhcpcd.conf file and included this:

interface wlan0

static ip_address=192.168.1.252/24
static routers=192.168.1.254
static domain_name_servers=192.168.1.254

This time it had the deny interfaces thing in it and I had to delete that first.

Should be fine then.

You can use both Wifi and the RS232 connections at the same time.

Note that UAT is on hold in the UK at the moment I believe, it was a a trial conducted by Sky Echo and Sky Demon, but I think this has ended now.

Suggest connecting with the "PilotAware" connection method and getting bearingless targets rather than using GDL90 and getting (or not getting) weather.

Personally I think it'll work very well, but how long will your coax run be? Coax attenuation at 1GHz is quite high!

Can't remember how I put in the static IP address but I think it sort of standard.

Mine also went off-line when I tried it. I think it might have overwritten the Wifi configuration.  :o

I'll try and sort it out next time I'm back in Guildford.

There's a thread about copying the configuration here:

I've had a couple of DVB dongles go U/S, one because of plugging and unplugging the aerial which dislodged the centre pin of the antenna socket - I replaced the socket with an SMA socket and I was using that dongle for some time before it eventually gave out again recently. I have another dongle which seems to have stopped working as well. I don't think the heat build up in the small plastic cases does them much good. The Rosetta should be better in that respect as it takes the plastic cases off them which gives them a bit more air, though I believe the Rosetta comes with the "low power" dongle which doesn't get as hot in the first place. One of the Stratux cases in the US has two fans on it, one for the PI (which we can't use on a PAW due to the bridge board) and one for the dongle compartment, which we may be able to use.

One thing I've noticed is that the recently purchased small dongles I have come with R820T2 tuners rather than the older R820T tuners which were always the norm.

Ah, great!

I don't remember doing that with mine. Curious.

You can check on the PI by using "sudo ifconfig" (I think!) or "ifconfig -a" or something. You can see if you then have an IP address allocated to your PI on the wlan0 network.

You can reset an interface like so:

sudo ifdown wlan0
sudo ifup wlan0

(again, I think, I'm not at my PI at the moment to try it)

Make sure you don't have the ethernet cable plugged in when trying to Wifi connection.

I used a fresh install and all I did was add in the lines for my Wifi. I can try again if you like, when I get back to Guildford, see what happens. The only Pi I have here in Wales at the moment is an old 1B....not a B+!  ;D

No, the <> are just for showing that you input something there rather than just typing what's in there.

Depends on whether they're being picked up by at least three separate Radar360 receivers.

Sounds like it could be a ground loop. Have a look on Amazon for an audio ground loop isolater. There are threads on the forum here somewhere about various units that people have bought.
