All the options should be remembered in the browser
they are saved in the browsers cookies - unless you have them disabled ?

Thx

Hi Andrew,

Can you send a link to the USB/RS232 converter you are using ?

Its a strange one
One thing you could try is connecting as flarm rather than pilotaware
The flarm setting uses TCP, rather than UDP

I am not so concerned about throttling as the PI is hugely powered for its tasks

I would be more concerned about triggering brown outs and reboots
The warning is there for a reason

As Steve says, I would unplug the aircrew and see if the issue resolves

Paw does not advertise itself as a router, unless you explicitly select it to on the network page

Skyecho DOES advertise itself as a router, so as you say devices prefer it in order to gain access to the internet, which is totally bogus, as it is not a router

You could enable the router feature AND add passwords to restrict access

Paw can act as a client and a server simultaneously

The restrictions of your cellular device are unrelated
Some devices can act simultaneously as a hotspot to give internet access AND connect to paw as a client, but some devices cannot

Paw has no restriction on the order the connection is made, again may be a restriction on your cellular device

I have also seen issues with multiple devices sharing a power pack

Its worth noting that the messages on Skydemon and paw are not equivalent
Paw messages are based on proximity, triggered by entry into zones, a bit like your burglar alarm
Skydemon messages are based upon extrapolating tracks of traffic and your own track, and calculating the risk

I think this issue is unrelated to power
The fact that Deker has a solid client on the apple device, but not on the Android
Points to an issue with the android device I think

Not sure about this particular gps receiver
But the one we use on Rosetta fx, produces an NMEA message
This is a $GPTXT message with text ANTSTATUS

To answer your question you need to plug into a PC or LINUX machine and connect a terminal (minicom or putty) and look for the above message when adding/ -removing external antenna

How does it know to switch between the built in patch antenna and the other connected antenna?

Good question, and I have no clue!
However it does work
On Rosetta FX (shortly due for release), it has the option for internal/external antenna
Simply attaching/detaching the external antenna is detected automatically by the receiver
I know this because a status message is produced, indicating which antenna is being used

Are you on the beta program ?
I suspect you are being prompted to install a beta release

If you are on igrid, this will have downloaded in the background
Can you check in the web pages if a download is awaiting install

You could try this

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Geekstory-Antenna-Supports-GLONASS-Compatible/dp/B07ZR8R17Q

I am assuming that it uses a usb-uart bridge which the OS has drivers installed for

Hi Chris

This is an SD issue, have you asked Tim on the SD Forum ?
I suspect what is happening, is that SD does not continue running in the background

Thx
