OGN-R PilotAware / Re: Data usage

I did that 70 hours ago and that's the figures I got. I'll try and record the totals each day for a few days.

I reset my Router about 70 hours ago and since then on that Ethernet line there has been 10.5 Gb uploaded and 17.3 Gb downloaded which is about 400 Mb per hour but I do have the 360 Radar page active all the time. The info page on port 8081 from the FLARM does give the traffic sent and received and it's about 15 Kb per hour.

We switched the receiver back on this morning and so far it has used just under 10 Mb per hour so it's very data hungry. More info to follow. I don't want to go back to just a flarm only receiver but unless we can find a cheaper solution than the one we have at the moment I will have to for this station.

We use 1p mobile and you can get a daily total of data usage from our account and the PI is the only thing connected to it.

Had EGNL up for a few days now and it seems to be using a good bit of data, about 200Mb per day. Is this normal?

On the PW Data table there is a column called type, is there an explanation anywhere what the 5 characters mean?

OGN-R PilotAware / Re: New Stations Added

New station EGNL is now up and running to supplement the UKBRW station, it connects to the internet via a 3G WiFi dongle. I note that it has already updated to the latest software overnight as I installed it yesterday (Saturday). NOTE its position is not correct and needs to be adjusted slightly as the antenna is not in the middle of the airfield but on the corner of the clubhouse. I'll do that next Sunday when I'm back at the club.

OK second SDR fitted and reconfig done, FLARM and P3I side is working so how do I check if the ADS-B receiver is working. I ave a separate Flight Aware system up and running with nearly 30 contact shown.

Hi Peter
You will need to rerun the pilotaware-OGN.update.sh script
This all depends on running an upto date version

Thx
Lee

Does this script run every time the pi is rebooted?

Morecambe is hard wired to a switch so no WiFi issues, the new one that will eventually be EGNL is WiFi as no land line is available.

No it didn't complete and I couldn't log in with Putty. Also the station was red on spot the glider. I'm doing a fill reload now so will let you know what happens.

Update
Now working after a full reload with release 20191111. now showing as on line in Spot the gliders, OGN tracker and Glider radar.
