General Discussion / Re: Kits or ready-made device

I imagine there would be fairly good demand for a pre built unit at a sensible price.
Certainly would have gone for one myself, however decided to try and build using the pre assembled ARF and pressure sensor that JC supplies.
I'm now waiting for a few bits to arrive.
I'm sure to be asking questions.
No soldering to do though!

I have one of these installed in the back of my aircraft.

So far its only supplied power to a mini ipad and dual150 GPS.  Will add a pilotaware this weekend and see what happens.

It doesn't run hot with just ipad and gps, and I haven't had any RF issues - but I'm still running a 25MHz radio (The 8.33 radios are apparently a lot more sensitive)

It has a dedicated wire from the master solenoid, and doesn't share any wiring with the rest of the aircraft - except wiring from the battery to the solenoid.

I have the same unit in my flexwing powering ipad mini and my backup gps.
Just the occasional bit of interference on the radio when ipad battery not fully charged.
Its just plugged into 12v lighter socket.

I'm hoping to come up before lunch with a couple of other flexwings from Sandy. We took part in the early testing in the air at Long Marston.
We havent yet built any PilotAware systems. It will be good to see how it has progressed and to see the units that John Parker and falconguy have built.
Falconguy I believe we spoke about the system in the cafe at Fenland some time back.
I have just setup my Transponder to do ADSB out ( I may take part in the nats trial) might do a test enroute!

General Discussion / Re: Licence Expiry and future Prices

I  think annual subsription at the amount stated is an absolute bargain! I hate to think how much time and effort  Lee and  others? have been spent  to get where we are today.
I would also consider an outright purchase of the software. Where would this leave us with future enhancements though?
