Model aircraft use 100mW on the 2.4Ghz band and have known control issues if a person get between the pilot and model, and that is at less than a kilometre range. Not surprised that internal and shielded antenna reception is poor between PAW units, not to mention poor antenna setups.

We seem to have two threads running on this issue?

I think the idea was to use the PIlotAware Pi with an LCD display, rather than having 2 Pi or other devices. I think that would need your input Lee?

No squared jokes please

Hi David, Just put your Pin location close to home if that is were the PA unit is running from. Mine is on a major roundabout a few minutes away. Once you are using it in an aircraft then the airfield would be a better location. What text you put in the comments in entirely up to you.

There is  a Facebook page

https://www.facebook.com/PilotAware

I'm not interested in widening discussion there either as Facebook would own everything we wrote.

Do you need a google account to do this then?
Yes you do. Then you also need to make sure you are in edit mode to see the pointer.

As cunning as a fox who's just been appointed Professor of Cunning at Oxford University?

Trouble is there may not be enough aircraft in range at any one time. Now if there was an network of ground stations :-)
