Technical Support / USB naming on Configure page
« on: August 18, 2019, 06:46:46 pm »
I have just noticed the 4 x USB settings on the Configure page have pre-set names you can choose, such as Flarm-in, Flarm-out, Transponder - Trig, etc, etc - does it make any difference to use them or just leave them named as “(auto)”

Problem solved - I bought a £20 pre-loaded SD card from Pilot Aware and it updated no problem :)

The SD Card Formatter only has two options of "quick format" or "overwrite format".  I chose "overwrite format". Was that the correct one?

I ask as the PAW upgrade webpage states to choose "full overwrite" while the READ ME  text for the upgrade states choose "format" for PC which are both different to above

Hi Lee - can you clarify what you mean by “full overight” - do you mean re formatting the sd card - I followed the instructions re the sd formatter programme (at least i thought i did)

Technical Support / Upgrade Issue on Classic
« on: August 06, 2019, 09:31:23 pm »
I am trying to upgrade and thought I had done everything correctly from formatting the SD card to uploading the 21 odd files to it and inserting it into my classic PAW and leaving it on for 30 minutes plus. However as per the two attachments of my home and configure screens the old version 20180520 is showing and not 20190621. Any suggestions would be much appreciated

but shouldnt the gliders full call-sign show?

68
I’ve recently noticed some traffic on my Sky Demon only shows as a “G” and the rest of the callsign is missing. Does anyone have any idea why?

NB On SkyDemon under “Navigation Options” I have the slide switch “Show Callsigns” set to on.

Lummie looks complicated - I am trying to not have any wires in the cabin and just have a single wire from my permanent Pilot Aware feeding into the back of my Funke.... from what you kindly described do I simply need a lead with 3.5mm male both ends to plug and play... I was hoping to get everything ready and then just turn up at my airfield with everything I needed. I couldn't see a photo online anywhere of the back of my Funke to see what the aux input actually looks like (nor in the manual) and may have to open up the 40 odd screws access panel to actually have a look firstly.

70
Has anyone connected the PAW audio output directly into the external audio input of a Funke ATR833-II radio to receive audio traffic warnings and how was it connected i.e is it simply plug to plug or is it more complicated than that?

71
PS I couldn’t see the above “Show Callsigns” option on my Sky Demon then saw there was a Sky Demon upgrade. After the upgrade just now, this option appeared but defaulted on off. I expect that is why he couldn’t see callsigns anymore and makes sense as to why he said he normally does see them. Thanks for help.

72
Thanks - we were rather focusing on PAW - I will get him to now check that setting on Sky Demon

I flew to Sandown yesterday with another microlight. We both use Sky Demon; both have PilotAware and both have ADSB out with Funke transponders. I could both see his plane icon and registration on my Sky Demon the whole flight. He could see my plane icon on his Sky Demon, but not my registration. The Sky Demon screenshot he took, to show me after the flight, also happened to have another plane icon nearby, which also was not showing its registration. On his PilotAware configure page he is set-up to display “registrations” under “Display Traffic Info”.

Anyone any idea why he was not displaying registrations?

Technical Support / What does Pilot Aware with Flarm transmit to the OGN?
« on: October 04, 2018, 09:59:28 am »
Hi

If you got to the OGN open glider network http://wiki.glidernet.org/ then under the heading LIVE on the left hand side menu, click on link KTRAX TRACKING and then the link ALL FLARM/OGN, there is a 28 day flight log of Flarm and OGN Tracker receives.  I can see on 30th September my microlight (with Hex 406C23) appeared in the logs twice as per snapshots below. Once as  “ogn:406C23” and once as "icao:406C23". I assume the "icao:406C23" is my ADSB out but what does the other "ogn:406C23" signify as I don't have an OGN Tracker fitted. I do have Pilot Aware and a Flarm Classic Mouse, and so, if anything, shouldn't the "ogn:406C23" really have shown up as "flarm:406C23"  ?

Technical Support / Re: More Traffic Screen queries on PAW
« on: October 01, 2018, 09:46:39 am »
Dear Lee

Noted with thanks but I’m still a bit unsure why my tracking page showed my Hex on the 13.55pm snapshot but not on the 14.29pm snapshot? I hope it isnt some hardware issue? As you saw,  I added a link to the relevant .tck files and wonder if that offers any explanation?
