Hi Moffrestorer,

I also noted the 1/4" jack sockets and that it was in a metal (steel probably!) case. I had an idea in mind to remove the 'guts' and put them in an ABS box. I'd like to hard-wire mine into the aircraft so would add a Cannon 'D' for all the inputs and outputs. I hate the idea of loose cables and jacks just floating about! I looked at the Instructables one you mentioned and will try that as I already have those parts.

That's a simple idea but a bit restricted on the number of devices one can plug in. Your enhancement request is a neat idea too!

As this thread seems to have departed from the question first asked I think this might be an appropriate time to ask something about the discount for folk like me who had early licences and are computer biffs. In the information to be supplied when applying for the discount, Beta license MAC address is requested. Is that my licence number(s) which begin B827..... or something else? If something else, how do I find it (them)?

I started early on at the PA stand where Dave kindly ran one of my 2 units up to check that it worked, at least within the constraints of poor GPS reception. Thanks Dave, appreciated.
The talk later was just great. I would think that for anyone not knowing the principles of what PA can do and cannot do would have been very enlightened. It was not at all technical (no 'how' it does what it does) and really put the project firmly as a viable proposition for GA pilots to seriously consider. There were just a few questions at the end that were most comprehensively answered so I'm certain there will be many more licenses issued in the near future!
But - I'm preaching to the already converted!

Hi Richard, like you I am also collecting parts. My regulator boards came with nothing bridging the space between the square pads where the letters JMP are.

Closely examining this area, I saw nothing connected on them and there were traces of a component having been removed from the pads. I  haven't run the boards up yet but fully expect there to be 3.3V on the output as they were delivered, as we require. There is no need to cut the tracks to the pads. I'm sure that I have seen a close-up picture of this area but can't find it anywhere now, sorry. Hopefully, Lee will be along soon to explain more fully.
