General Discussion / Re: Wifi fails to initialise on boot up

It's a B+ (or so it says on the box) and the software was PilotAware.20151114.

If I relieve myself of my eBay aversion and get the known good wifi dongle, will it work or will the setup have failed also (due to the bad dongle)?

Setup should be OK - just plug in the 'good' dongle and you should be fine.
btw. I don't think your SD card can be read-only if you've got as far as you have!

Thanks. Any idea if PAW sends the right NMEA messages for it ? I guess that might be one for Lee.

Cool - thanks. A friend has one so am interested on his behalf.
I like the number buttons for entering the codes rather than the knob and button approach.

Has anyone tried PilotAware with (or know the NMEA/RS232/SIL/SDA specs for) a Bendix King KT74 transponder ?

If you're confident in it - add it to the Known Good Hardware thread, although looking at the form-factor of it I think you'll struggle to plug anything into the adjacent USB socket ??

One would hope the TCAS software can easily be changed to deal with SIL/SDA = 0 and switched to "see" these in one form or another at some point in the future.
Definitely still "in" and very happy to be ahead of the ADS-B game.

Sounds right - I guess the same 3.3v out from the Digole that powers the ARF?

The SOPod board has 4 advantages I like:

- no need for soldering the Digole

- no need for new GPIO connector cables as more GPIO connections are needed (I guess you could not cut the others off at the connector but you end up with a lot of cable to put somewhere in the case)

- plenty of 5v and 3.3v (and GND) solder points.

- physical board to stick things to e.g the ARF and Baro

I have the Asus Memopad 173X which is basically a Nexus 7" Android tablet.
It is VERY slow at getting a proper GPS lock.

I'd recommend downloading the free "GPS Test" app from the PlayStore - this clearly shows when the tablet has a proper lock and how many satellites etc.

Remember the antennas need to be vertical, so that would imply the ARF antenna would be vertically out of the other side of the PAW, making quite a long unit to place such that it has a good view of the sky I think ( ? )

I still haven't worked out how to Hex Code my unit, it would be good to get mine sorted

All in the software / installation guide ...

Hi - if you have a reliable set of steps for setup on Air Nav Pro I'd be interested to add them to the Software Guide, inc step by step screenshots.

General Discussion / Re: Windows 10 & SD Formatter

I think the key problem is the partitioning of the SD card rather than the formatting as such.

Am looking for free Windows partitioning software that works - if I find one I'll post a link here!

btw. If you have a Mac you can do all this with Disk Utility easily.

On a Wifi only iPad ? I think you also need the DNS entry in the PAW Wifi settings for those.
