I have noted a similar issue with the JuicBitz cables.......probably 4 in total....could be a bad batch....I bought mine via JuicBitz direct so I don't think they were copies....I'm using much shorter ones now and have not had any issues since....

It took me 20 minutes in total....and that included trying to find an 8GB card my 2 year old daughter had hidden in her toy box....
Formatting the cards to the unintiated can be a little daunting using SD Card Formatter....but if you RTFM or look through the forum for other folks installation errors it will be much easier.....download the new update then copy the contents within the zip file direct to the formatted SD card...insert into the PilotAware and make a cup of tea....about 15  minutes later....it should have rebooted showing up as a new ssid in your preferred tablet.......192.168.1.1 to enter the setup screen from a browser...enter your details including licence code...and jobs done

Mine are 2017 too.....I originally had the old bluetooth module but changed it for the new one that does audio.....I think the cost was around £150 to change the module....
Setting up with PAW was a little faffy.....as mentioned press the scan button on the PAW.....I think I then pressed the bluetooth button on the headset.....I did it a couple of times but it eventually showed up with the mac address and bose written at the end of it on the PAW

The answer is not to minimize SkyDemon.....then it won't happen.....Most people will always keep this app running primary....

In the testing phase of the new version, all good so far. Well done Lee.

Feedback when connecting to SD via pilotaware protocol first message received is this.....never had the lost message before

On SkyDemon
GPS Lost
6 found

Is there a way to make the BT discovery a little more user friendly.....is it not possible to read an ascii label rather than the I presume mac code.....very confusing when you are setting up at home and a million devices populate all with mac codes....

Keep up the good work.....

Brinsley

The instructions recommend an 8GB SD card now

General Discussion / Re: Connecting to Dynon Skyview
« on: June 19, 2019, 05:12:37 pm »
I wired a Dynon Skyview and Dynon Audio SV Intercom panel with Pilot Aware and didn't have any issue with volume at all. If its a line level input there should be more than adequate to drive the audio alerts from PAW into the Garmin.....Are sure you sure you have everything configured correctly in the Garmin.....these units sometimes have a few submenus that enable different functions

Technical Support / Re: IOS 12 and Skydemon - on the laggy side ...

It seems a little strange they introduced another update shortly  after the release of 3.10.4 to include engine and block time buttons on the sideways profile map when stationary....I wonder if a bug crept in then....and it just coincided with  iOS 12.....Software debugging.....so frustrating !! Especially as Tim Dawson is saying its not affecting all devices....unless he means not affecting android

I can confirm the findings too.....SkyDemon is definitely very 'laggy' in screen refresh and pressing key touchscreen responses...I used it on three flights yesterday and each one was the same, almost to the point of non functional.
Coincidentally I was using it with PilotAware Rosetta too but I only experienced this issue since the upgrade to iOS12 and the newest update of SkyDemon 3.10.4.132 so am fairly sure PilotAware is no factor at all....Lets hope the boys at SkyDemon sort this quickly as I am sure they will.....

Technical Support / Re: Weak WiFi signal
« on: August 09, 2018, 09:15:33 am »
If its set to 100mw already it could be a faulty WiFi dongle....try lowering the power to 50mw or less, maybe its getting too hot and shutting down.....the 10mw range should work in the average size cockpit anyway.....

I think I've found a Chinese importer that can make 1 metre USB cables out of this.....he said terminating it is 'no problem' in a thick Chinese accent...
However weight and balance could be an issue !!!

So I have also run the same test......but measuring voltage from one of the four USB ports and my figures are as follows

50cm JuiceBitz USB cable.....with an Anker Power Bank model B30224. 22400maH on the port supplying 2.4A max
Pi 3B
Single SDR v2    4.91V Throttling 0x0 (none) - measured before the two SDR test.
Two SDRs v2      4.84V Throttling 0X0

100cm JuiceBitz USB cable with Red Plugs.....with an Anker Power Bank model B30224. 22400maH on the port supplying 2.4A max
Pi 3B
Single SDR v2    4.85V Throttling 0x0 (none) - measured before the two SDR test.
Two SDRs v2      4.83V Throttling 0X50000

In my case CABLES !!!
