Technical Support / Re: WARNING - No ADSB Pos (Trig 21)

Yes it was the baud rate. I’ve amended it to match the Trig at 9,600 and it works perfectly.  As always a professional speedy response to technical issues which enhances the legitimacy of the PilotAware.

Many thanks,

Gramac

Thanks for all your help. I am going to the airstrip again tomorrow so will have another close look.  I am conscious that the baud rates are not aligned so will do this first. One is 4,800 and the other is 9,600.

I will post an update when I have one.

Thank you

Technical Support / WARNING - No ADSB Pos (Trig 21)
« on: March 26, 2021, 04:18:41 pm »
Hi,

I have a PilotAware and Trig connected together and has been installed for a couple of years without issue. I’ve noticed today on some -re flight maintenance that the titled message above appears.  Looking at the forums and the configuration of my pilot aware which I’ve just installed the latest firmware for I think I may have discovered the issue.

On a previous forum it states that the Trig 21 should be set to NMEA-0831, mine is NMRA-0183. Which is the correct setting please? I currently use USB port 4, but looking again mine is set to 4800 not the 9600 I think it should be.

Hopefully a very quick configuration issue from a flexwing pilot desperate to fly on Monday

It was the SD card that was corrupted. New card in, but obviously it’s wiped all my setting and configurations, so I will have to start again.

I’ve connected the Rosetta via a HDMI cable to the TV and powered it up with my Anler Powerbank which throws out the required a page and nothing happened. I’ve tried to read the SD card on a laptop and MacBook and have been unable to do so. I cannot reformat the SD card as it says it is write protected and everything I have done to over come this has failed from using the CMD function and also changing my registry values with RegEdit.

I’ve come to the conclusion the the SD card is unserviceable and ordered an new one. I will keep this thread posted.

Thanks

Thanks Peter,

Will it need to be connected to a power supply when the HDMI cable is inserted ? If so I may be struggling in the house as I’ve not got a power source.

With other dongles in there is no hotspot available like usual. I will try with a HDMI connector later.

Thanks

Technical Support / No Hotspot

Hi,

I noticed on a flight at the new year that there was no ADBS and I had trouble connecting my iPad to the PilotAware. Today I see I am completely unable to connect the device at all and it doesn’t provide a hotspot. I’ve removed it from my flexwing and put it in my car and the same thing.

I have a constant red light inside and unable to connect via 192.168.1.1

I have unplugged the GPS and other USB plug and still the same. I’m sure there used to be a flashing green ?

I’m presuming the unit may have developed a fault.  Is there a factory reset option ?

Kind regards

Graham

Thanks. What do the call signs mean ? They are not displayed as the usual G-XXXX etc.

Thanks

General Discussion / Crop Circles?
« on: July 27, 2019, 08:41:07 pm »
Can anyone explain the following coloured circles around my aircraft on a recent flight? I was desperately looking for another aircraft but none were visible.

The rings around the top two images highlight a call sign 76EB00 and the bottom two GIPGL.  The Images have become blurred due to the very small sized image stipulation on the forum.

Thanks

Graham

I’ve just recalibrated my altimeter and then the transponder setting to corroborate the altimeter. It was out about 150 ft in fairness so I will ask ATC to see if it is resolved.

No not a PA issue. I now need to recalibrate my altimeter and then set transponder to that.

All sorted I’m pleased to report.  Just have to now recalibrate my altimeter as ATC said I was 300ft higher than I was reporting to them !  Another job !

THANKS FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT.

I’ve spoken to Danny at Mendelssohn (what a good guy), he accepts he has used the wrong cable and suggested that in the absence of a pin removing tool, domas has been suggested in that I snip the yellow wire, strip it and solder the orange data cable instead.  Fingers crossed then and I will keep you updated.

Thanks

Thanks Peter,

We all make mistakes, so I’ve emailed Danny to see what he suggests.  If it is a case of simply soldering the orange wire onto the yellow in the connector, then that’s not too much of an inconvenience, easier than wallpapering and hopefully a final solution.

I will keep you posted.

Appreciate your support.

Graham
