Success, partially. On the return leg EGHE to EGHP I received a few METARs but only close to Popham. So at least my kit seems to work but it may be more of a coverage issue. I thought there were two ATOM station on the route to the west but may be they weren’t working. Hopefully more stations will be set up in the South West to support this new feature.

Yes I looked at the PAW home page and clicked on the METAR button. Just some small heading boxes and no reports. PAW was receiving traffic OK. Will see what happens tomorrow.

I didn’t get any METARs appear during a flight from EGHP to EGHE. Is there something I have to “switch on”?

Excellent, that would be very helpful, ipad split screen notwithstanding.

Just upgraded to the new release very smoothly (via the updater app -  nice option) and looking forward to seeing the the METARS uploads when near an ATOM station. My probably dumb question is can the METARS be passed to the EFB apps or is it only available in the PAW METARS table?

Many thanks.

Technical Support / Re: Ipad losing connection to PAW

Unfortunately as I was flying solo I couldn't check if the hot spot was still available. There was not other Wifi hotspot. When it happens again I will check those two points you suggested checking.

Yes I am using the Anker power products.

I only mentioned using Location services as I used that to get reliable nav.

Technical Support / Ipad losing connection to PAW
« on: May 10, 2017, 12:47:08 pm »
I am not sure if anyone else has experienced this. I am running the latest PAW and SAD on an Ipad mini 4. After a random time SD reports is has lost connection and hence position. Initially I thought this was a power issue as I was using the recommended cig socket charger and wondered if it worked loose. However I had the same with a suitable power bank.

SD worked find with no problems when using Location Services. The PAW appears to keep working fine based upon audio alerts. I am wondering if it is something to do with the Wifi conection?

Any thoughts,clues, etc very welcome.

PS Well done to the team on the OGN tie up. Saw some of this as I headed north at the weekend.

Thank you Lee, that seems to be working. Much appreciated.

Hi, trying to upgrade. I can access the PAW from the ipad (192.168.1.1) when ethernet cable from router NOT plugged in. But when I plug the ethernet cable in BEFORE powering up, I can get safari to show the PAW screens to do the update, it hangs.

Any clues as to what I am doing wrong? New bridge version with Pi2 and version 20160820

General Discussion / Flight today - PAW and TCAS
« on: July 26, 2016, 06:02:50 pm »
We did a flight from Farnborough way to west side of Stansted and back today. I was using the newly upgraded PAW with Pi2 and latest software and the aircraft had it's own TCAS (Bendix King I think).  PAW did give a good warning of a same level head on traffic before TCAS gave a TA. However there was lots of traffic TCAS advised of which PAW was unaware of. I assume this must have been Mode C and despite it being a good day for viz, it was hard to spot the lower level traffic.  As usual, lots of ADSB CAT traffic was visible.

I guess PAW was useful but nowhere near as useful as it would be if it gave mode C alerts. Any timesacles when this faeture will be available?

General Discussion / Re: Latest version - ADSB labels

Better than me then. I tried taking the DVBs out, with slight improvement with one out and worse with both out!

At 92m I am getting -54/-73 (with both DVB's plugged in)

I think I have spotted the issue, older versions of SD on one so I assume whilst it used to display hex code with previous PAW version, the older SD version doesn't handle new label. Trying now.

On a slave/master test I am getting -24/-34 with units 10 feet apart. Does that seem healthy?
