Hi Neil

Some devices can act as a wifi hotspot whilst maintaining a cellular connection, my iPhone SE will do this, your mileage may vary!

Also the RX will act as a router, so if you connect fx to phone, and iPad to fx, the iPad will see the internet

Can you describe your setup

1. What type of antenna are you using ?
2. Where is the unit located (if antenna attached to unit)
3. Where are the antenna located (if antenna are remote)
4. What type of aircraft construction, metal, wood ... ?

can I ask a few questions

Did you fix the issue? I occasionally have the same problem, with a portable setup, and if I check the aircraft callsign is always an aircraft that is plausible. The Hex value corresponds to the transponder's. It's kind of scary.
Multiple times I tried to carefully "separate" from the "ghost" but did not get a distinct trace.
What's very strange is that on the radar I don't see them, only on Skydemon. Could it be a FLARM protocol issue?

What you are describing is a Mode-S return which contains no position report, but does report an altitude
With no position, it cannot be plotted on a moving map

This is not ghosting, this is a correct detection.

you say you do not see these on the radar, only on skydemon
Can you provide your settings. and also describe exactly what you see in skydemon

Hi Joe,

you initially said

Rosetta couldn’t find GPS until back East of Malvern.

Can you provide the exact wording of the error that you saw ?

I suspect that SD was not reporting a GPS error, but was more likely reporting cannot connect to device ?

I can see no loss of GPS in any of the data, however the data is truncated into 3 files
This indicates a catastrophic fail - most likely a power disconnect, and this would explain why there are 3 files as the system rebooted when power is lost

it is not possible to definitively prove this because of course, if the power is lost no writes to the log are made.
Categorically there are no GPS issues, the lock was constant for the entire time the unit was running

can you check the cabling and importantly if any of the connectors feel a little loose.

As an aside, when I update the iOS PAW updater, it tells me that 230316 is the latest version.

Is 240417 still a beta version?

We will probably push out a new release for all platforms in the next week
