Love this product more and  more.  I was using the PA through my Dynon SV system although the display is pants when compared to the SkyDemon display and display of traffic conflicts.
I Was getting a few glider alerts as well on Saturday via the OGN which was even better.

So im now using the PA connected to SD using the PA connection  in the connectivity settings on SD. Ive noticed if the SD connectivity is set to online mode for data  the popup keeps coming up at the bottom saying loss of data, although SD still works fine and if I touch the screen it goes away for a few minutes. .When i set this connectivity to offline mode  it works fine and no popups.

Any suggestions?

I dont think this happened when i was using Flarm mode

Technical Support / Serial Link drops when no traffic
« on: May 28, 2017, 06:06:18 pm »

I am confident that the issue is unrelated to skydemon, but would like this confirmed

Thx
Lee

Lee im having a similar issue with PA dropping out through the serial link to my Dynon Skyview. The PA is still working as im getting  audio alerts. I did post a few weeks back about this issue and we thought it was traffic saturation. Having flown a few more weeks, it drops out when there is no traffic around.

Technical Support / odd behaviour when PA hooked up to dynon skyview
« on: March 31, 2017, 08:02:43 am »
First time i flew with PA working through the SV, everything worked fine.

Second and third flights, each time a traffic alert was announced via the SV, the SV then announced it had lost the FLARM signal and all contacts would vanish.  A few seconds later the system would reconnect to the serial data, and then again the moment it announced "traffic" the same thing would happen.

The PA is still working fine as i was receiving audio alerts and I checked the PA via the wifi webpage and all was good.

I thought it may be a loose contact so rechecked these on landing - and they were fine.

Ive changed the baud settings on both the PA and the SV from 56,000 to 9,600. Ive yet to test this configuration.

any other suggestions?

Technical Support / Help Connecting to Dynon skyview
« on: March 08, 2017, 06:20:29 pm »
Ive purchased a serial to USB connector https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00QUZY4WO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Ive connected the Transmit out to a  serial input on the skyview and tried various settings on both the PA (which recognises the USB-serial adaptor) and the Skyview but nothing is happening - no packets are being received by the skyview.

I know the serial input works on the skyview as a gps puck was connected on this channel before and worked.

How can i test if the usb converter is sending data?

any other things i can try?

thanks

David

General Discussion / Can PA wifi be renamed?
« on: March 05, 2017, 08:59:27 am »
Love this product. Ive only used it 3 times, yesterday whilst flying it picked up 2 aircraft at the same level way before i saw them. I fly out of elstree so airspace is squashed in and busy especially at weekends. For the cost, its a no brainer in my judgement.

Ive recently fitted a hard wired high current USB port - seems like no interference although i noticed the number of satellites detected on my dynon skyview was low and hence my GPS altitude was showing -2,500 feet  :o .  The altitude on the PA was spot on with the actual attitude This may just be a glitch as i had upgraded the SV software that morning and the first 2 flights with PS shows no anomaly.

Anyhow, i recently started at Turweston and noted 2 PA wifi networks and couldn't for the life of me remember which one was mine. Can the wifi name be easily changed?

General Discussion / newbie question - Dynon skyview ADSB 470
« on: January 10, 2017, 09:04:37 am »
hi there

Im new to this PAW and like what i see

I have a dynon skyview system with the dynon (Trig) transponder.

when i installed the system i was told their ADSB module wont work in the UK. Im confused though as to what the dynon module does and how is it different to the PAW system (apart from the Dynon being way more expensive)

Also, can the PAW system be hooked up to display traffic on the SV screen?

Apologies if these are stupid questions, ive searched google and cant find the answers.
