Technical Support / GPS drop outs since Rosetta upgrade
« on: July 01, 2018, 09:30:15 pm »
Evening All

Has anyone experienced GPS drop outs since upgrading a Classic to a Rosetta. All was ok before the upgrade, I have attached some screenshots so hopefully it can be resolved.

I was getting these drop outs to and from Fenland today.

Technical Support / Upgrading PA via RJ45 on the new Pi3
« on: June 21, 2018, 11:12:46 am »
Morning

When I've upgraded my PA in the past, I was able to use the USB socket to upgrade. But the last few updates this has never worked, my USB storage card has never changed, I guess there might of been a change in the software  :( :(

So my workaround to upgrade my older Pi2 was to removed all the USB sockets and plugged it directly into the router, left 20 mins then upgraded.

When I upgraded to Pi3, I done a fresh install with the latest software 20180520, so how would I go about upgrading this, as the newer Pi3 has its own built in WiFi and you cant unplug this  :-\ :-\

I know my USB stick doesn't work on this unit neither  :-[ :-[

Technical Support / Updating the Kernel
« on: June 08, 2018, 02:22:20 pm »
Afternoon

I was wondering if the kernel on the Raspberry Pi can be updated manually, I believe the current version on the PA is 4.9.35-v7+.

The latest version is around 4.14, for example will this fix the slow reboot times as being reported ??

Kind Regards

Technical Support / Low Power RTL-SDR v2
« on: June 07, 2018, 09:55:33 am »
Morning All

Just purchased one of these Low Power RTL-SDR v2 from this site https://www.rtl-sdr.com/buy-rtl-sdr-dvb-t-dongles/

I received this yesterday and installed into my PA and its listed as Stratux LowPowerV2, all works fine see ADSB traffic from 300 miles away.

I've been looking at some of the screenshots for the new Rosetta, where people have had issues and I see the new RTL-SDR being listed as PilotAware SDR, so I was wondering what the differences are.

Kind Regards

Allan
