Technical Support / adsb (out) not showing on Vector
« on: February 20, 2024, 12:19:30 pm »
I noticed that although Vector showed my PAW and Flarm transmissions, ADSB(out) through my transponder was blank.  Ground testing showed the correct Octal code, registration and GPS data.
To check, I flew on 15 Feb with another aircraft that has ADSB(in and out) only and it could see me throughout.  Have I made some wrong selection in Vector that could cause this?

Technical Support / PilotAware seems to not be transmitting
« on: January 11, 2024, 12:33:06 pm »
Vector seems to show that for my last 2 flights my PilotAware was not transmitting.  Recently completed the Annual but Rosetta and power supplies not disturbed.  I have checked the cabling to the external antenna and the plugs without undoing.  Screenshots taken yesterday attached.  Reception and trafffic displays and callouts normal.

Any advice on the fault finding sequence I should follow please?

Technical Support / Rosetta wifi failed in cruise
« on: July 26, 2021, 07:00:28 pm »
Having operated faultlessly since installation in RV-8, today after 30 minutes in the cruise, the wifi stopped working (to 2 ipads with SKD).  Checked with settings and no wifi detected.  After an hour on the ground at destination, powered up Anker USB supply and Rosetta wifi opened on both ipads for about a minute and then failed for the rest of the flight and after landing.  No wifi detected again.

Any suggestions for isolating the fault please?

Technical Support / Multiple audio warnings of traffic
« on: August 11, 2020, 05:14:06 pm »
Have integrated PowerFLARM data (via USB cable) into PilotAware for display on Skydemon (iPad) via WiFi and have PF, PAW and SKD audio connected directly to my intercom system.  On most occasions this is magic with really accurate traffic calls on gliders and other traffic/airspace.  But recently departing Turweston which was quite busy with traffic, the audio systems seemed to be competing with each other on calling traffic (some seeming duplicate) resulting in bedlam in the headphones.

Originally I had set up the audio systems as auxiliary audio inputs to the VHF COM which are muted when receiving is in process but ATC chatter was blocking traffic information.  So I changed the configuration to remove the muting function but now have bedlam.

Can anyone explain the distribution of traffic source warnings in this case from merged PF, PAW and SKD audio so I can try to find a way to calm the ears?

Technical Support / Aircraft tracks not showing on Skydemon
« on: June 24, 2020, 03:42:23 pm »
Hi Folks,

flight testing my RV with PAW, ADSB Mode S and FLARM integrated. My aircraft mounted iPad with Skydemon connects to PAW when I hit Go Flying and I can hear the PAW audio messages through the intercom.  But I don't see any other aircraft tracks on the Skydemon display.  I checked through the list on the website for integrating PAW and SKD and set up seems to be as required.

Any advice on fault finding please?

John
