When playing a PAW track using aircrew/playback, an aircraft may have a series of letters at the top of the info tab. Are these displaying what the aircraft is emitting?
The letters are G (G reg?) A,C,S (Mode) and P (pilotaware), U (Uplink to a base station).

If so, why would an aircraft not show on FR24?

Technical Support / Another PAW Drop out!!

So, after several successful flights through France with no issues I yet again start to get issues with PAW.

No change to my kit or set up...Samsung Tab 3 8.0 (T315)running SkyDemon and powered by Anker PowerCore 20100 with genuine cable.

 The tablet lost connection with the PAW just after climb out. Rather than mess around, I went to the tablet location services and used the built in GPS and continued enroute.

On landing I checked for:-
wifi connection to the PAW...All Ok.
Config web pages...Unable to connect
GPS dongle in situ and flashing... All Okay
There were some Green lights working on the board but couldn't ascertain which ones with the cover still on. (Think i'll drill some holes in the top so I can see them)

It's almost as if the software froze....but why should it if it has run successfully on previous trips?

The unit had been sitting on the coaming throughout the flight and following a reboot I accessed the config pages and noted that the temperature was 78.3 degrees...( hot but not excessive I thought)


Is there anything I can do to assist in the fault finding process as I love the unit when it works but I'm getting pretty disillusioned with the reliability at the moment?

Technical Support / Anker powercore 20100 problem?

I've just purchased an Anker powercore 20100 and fully charged it. When I plug it in and boot the PAW it gets to the stage whereby the wifi is detectable and connectable but then shuts down.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

For clarity, the PAW powers up fine with my Poweradd battery pack so it's not a PAW problem.

Mods, if this is in the wrong forum please feel free to move it.

Two tablets both running SkyDemon and both connected to the same PAW unit. One shows an alert, the other doesn't

Can anyone give a reason why the alert didn't show on the 2nd screen?

In the products for sale is an end feed dipole... Is this for 869.5MHz?
I've only gone and lost mine and need a replacement!!

General Discussion / Dongle temperature

Has anyone else noticed the temperature emitted by the ADSB dongle supplied with the PAW classic?
Mine runs so hot (and smells hot) that I can barely touch it.

P.S. Unit supplied approx 2 months ago.

Following on from the CAA announcement regarding ADS-B.....

 Is the PilotAware Team planning to add weather info via 978Mhz in the future?
