Technical Support / Re: picking up own aircraft transponder
« on: June 22, 2017, 09:13:17 am »
Thanks for replies, it was after all  simply the hex address, which is strange because I put it in when i set up initially and the problem had not shown till that flight, so didn't bother checking the config when this happened.
It's quite possible that the owner who is definitely a steam gauge  man and a bit swamped with his recent adoption of Pilotaware, skydemon and ipad touchscreens all at the same time had a go fiddling with the config  .

Technical Support / picking up own aircraft transponder
« on: June 20, 2017, 08:45:32 pm »
Hello, testing a friends unit in the air this evening, we were picking our own mode c/s transponder signal through pilotaware ( confirmed by cycling the transponder on and off)
it alternated between a yellow and green ring.

Anyone else had this?, is seperation between the PilotAware and transponder antennae important?, they are close (about 3 inhes in this installation)

cheers, Russ

I'll be in Blois, but suggest you publicise this through the Microlight and Flyer forums if you want a decent turnout.

Cheers Ian, I have checked it and it is definately not being picked up, I'll try your suggestion of the using the 3.3 from my regulator.

Bryan, you don't need internet access, you connect to the webserver built into the PilotAware unit directly via wifi

Re: pressure sensor, I have fitted the 3.3v unit, bu tit's not being picked up.
Apart from the physicl connections is there anything else that needs doin? (I am using the 3.3v from the GP10 Connector (Pin 1), is this ok?)

Software is 200151003, though for some reason in the config it shows as 20151005 which I presume is just a typo?

Trapdoor, that looks very neat.
Do you have a link for an adaptor for the SMA connector, I don't what the connector type on the dongle itself is called, otherwise I would google for one.

cheers, Russ

Doh, just re - read RG's post, (should've gone to specsavers) .......so its an MCX connector
