Hi Dave and Ian.

I have been using my aircrew via the paw connection from the outset and never had any problems. In the aircrew manual for connections the use of power via the paw is stated. I have yet to view the upcoming update from paw as to why a usb would be needed.

Sorted..
Problem was the power source from the power socket holding the anker usb adapter. I will have to investigate more to see why but I suspect the adapter is not seating properly but once I used the power bank I had no problems whatsoever.

I will do that at the first available opportunity.
Thanks for the info.

Unable to get to the plane for a few days to check out. The anker is for the PAW only but it does power the aircrew via a PAW usb socket as per the instructions for it. I was wondering is there could be a power drop that could cause this. Next time I got to fly I shall try it with the power bank and see if that makes any difference. The aircrew works off the wifi of the PAW and that shows WIFI is active via the PAW. It just seems odd that it does lock onto the gps but its that sudden drop off that is concerning.

General Discussion / fitment of wired in aerials.

I have fitted the Rosette to my Xair panel and used the wired aerials one each site of the cockpit 6 inches from the door tubes and half way up the screen. The Rosette is tucked behind the Samsung Tab 2s mount. The problem I have is that PAW loads up and locks onto skydemon but then immediately drops off saying gps lost. Even if I reload the same thing happens. I am powering using an anker usb socket into the mains power mount. Going over to locations services everything works fine so I assuming the tablet gps is working ok. I have also attached to the Rosette the aircrew instrument which shows that wifi is active. Any clues would be appreciated.

Hi Lee. If I log on to SD initially with home wifi and close in background it opens in plane on paw wifi ok. It's if I don't do this it give connection error on will not open. It's odd because easyvfr find and opens using paw ok.
Using android not iPad.

If I open skydemon on my home wifi and close when I open in the plane it logs onto paw wifi. If I don't do this skydemon will not connect to paw showing connection error. No problem with easyvfr. Anyone had the same problem.  Using a Samsung tab 2s.

Hi Peter. I previously owned the classic and purchased the internal aerials to go with it but never used them. Now have the Rosetta. There was one dipole which is 6 inches end to end and the other an extension cable to go with the stand alone aerial. Is this dipole the 869 or the 1090 and can the extension lead be used on the other Rosetta aerial, which ever one it is? I've sent a mail to Keith but as yet no reply. Appreciate any help.

General Discussion / Re: Release notes for latest version.

I’ve updated to the latest release, but I only discovered it was available through word of mouth.

Apart from the new METAR page, I have no idea of the other enhancements and improvements, and can’t find anything on the website.

Where can I see such release notes, please?
I have downloaded the latest update with a flash drive pgp file. The ios paw updater only allows version 13 and above to download. I suggest many ios uses have older iPads that only have version 12.

I note your comment but many have viewed this continuing change of date as the product not working hence lack of faith in a possible purchase. I'm sure those who will find this instrument of use will purchase but many will hold off who would have done immediately until reviews are made. Marketing is the key to any new product and I feel Jamez could have been more informative as to why it's taken so long after the initial set date.

I was interested in this but have grown sceptical of it since the launch date keeps being amended.  I have sent them an email regarding their marketing strategy.

To show how adaptable paw us I have mine in a sandwich box. Hole drilled in the side for ventilation and cable outlets.  Two hole in the lid for aerials and the 25000mh battery velcroed on top of the lid. Then quick release strap holding it in pass side floor bar. Never failed yet, fingers crossed.
