Why the asterisk at the start of the hex code?
Have you tried without it?

I like to see the lights, so mine is in the panel. The LEDs in a Rosetta are literally that, i.e inside the case, and difficult to see without peering inside at exactly the right angle, and then not all at once.
I don't really know why I have the registrations turned on. After all, it's not going to make any difference in avoiding. Turn the function off and that may solve the HEX code problemI think there is some value, as you can link a radio call to a specific target. On more than occasion a numpty inbound on a similar track has reported a position when they’ve been at nothing like it according to the traffic display and the visual contact I may have had.
They'll also only pick up Mode S returns if the transponder is being interrogated, or else there will be no returns to pick up. I expect Solent would have been interrogating but not guaranteed.Even in the middle of nowhere on the ground you can see my transponder responding with the little antenna symbol merrily bllnking away; I've always assumed that's because its being interrogated by the multitudes of airliners' TCAS way above me.
It may do, but as a 'legacy' Rosetta user that doesn't answer my question! As an aside, when I update the iOS PAW updater, it tells me that 230316 is the latest version.
Is 240417 still a beta version?
The Rosetta FX offers updates from within the status GUI if connected to the Internet.
