Hi,

Renewal sub paid, I just wondered how is the renewal / extension managed. Will it automatically extend adter the expiry date, do we have to connect the PAW to the net to update the license info,  or is a new code sent ?

OK, well we have had 10-12 in the group, some have left to replaced by others, and then new phones for a few people...... so may have had 20 or so saved.

Do you know if saved hotspots were over written, what order would they do it in..... first in first out, or the one that hasn't been used for the longest date wise etc ?

Hi,

Does anyone know if there is a limit to how many Hotspot IDs can be saved on an iGrid upgraded Rosetta ?

I'm asking as a few of the group members who thought they were saved are now not. They aren't sure if they've changed phone since, so it could be down to this, but jn the mean time just thought I'd check if there is a limit on how many are remembered.

Ahhh OK, I didn't think of the potential synching of Transponder altitudes, as mine was only putting out PAW according to the Playback.

Yesterday I had 1024/1025

Interesting clicking between the TRANSMISSION and seeing how much of it relied on CELLULAR only as no stations in sight.

Hi,

Firstly id like to say what a brilliant tool the Groundstation Playback site is but was wondering if there were any ideas why on the Groundstation Playback site there is a large altitude difference compared to downloaded TRK file?

Eg on my flight yesterday the Groundstation playback showed -313ft when on the ground, compared to my TRK file height of 25ft with 10 satellites in view?

Technical Support / Antennas - where have you stuck yours?

Hi all,

Just logged into Vector to see a demo display on the Polar Diagram.  It showed the results for aircraft G-BWNC - Cessna 152 - HEX = 403bae with some pretty impressive coverage.  His results look amazing, I'm just wondering if the admin/PAW team would be able to email the owner to ask where they have positioned the aerials and if they are the remote or direct attach to the PAW etc. 

Mine is getting nowhere near that, but I'm in a PA28 - so guess the wing is blocking a good bit of signal coverage.

Would be good to get some feedback from owners that are having results like this, to help improve some others.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the reply. I didn't know you could see from the Ground station point of view, good to know.

I've also just found on planefinder.net you can replay a certain time and position and this has shown my flight and some of the other aircraft I visually saw but weren't reported on the EFB.

I had previously downloaded my Trk and viewed it on Aircrew, and that confirmed what I was shown on SkyDemon vs out the window.

Hi All,

Do any of you know of any flight tracking websites where you can look at an replay view and see the aircraft that were picked up there at that time. I have tried FlightRadar24 replay feature, and although it allows you to pick the time and position, and replay the traffic in a certain area, unfortunately 90% of the aircraft that I saw, including ours (which is Mode S and was Tx) do not show up.

Other websites (ADSB exchange, FlightAware) do show my flight once I search on the reg, but not other traffic that was about at that time.

Hi Peter,

Sorry for the delay

Yep, PA28 with mode S, not ES or ADSB. Since day one we have been using the PAW Internal Dipole Antennas. At the moment I have positioned the 869.5 aerial on the left and 1090 aerial on the right, both at the aft of the windscreens, and the GPS antenna on the right - towards the front of the glare shield (see attached photo).  The actual unit is strapped under the instrument panel out of the way of the avionics, hands, feet and the sun.

We operate out of EGHF, and recently a local ground station unit has been online - PWSolent.

The mode C/S settings are set like that as we dont use bearingless targets, Is this not correct?

The date of the most recent missing track was 22/09/21, and was just a bimble around the solent/IoW area.

Although we do have a functioning mode S Garmin Transponder installed, as this is a group aircraft I can't be sure how others are using it.

Hi Pete,

Just been down and got the screenshots. She was at the back of the hangar, but with the doors open so got a GPS lock and the traffic and local ground station was showing in Skydemon.

Other thing I didn't mention before, was on the night of no Track log or traffic in skydemon I would have passed at least four ground stations.

The reg is G-WNTR and the is hex ID is 401D1E

Thanks for the reply.

I don't have any screenshots yet, but the software version is the latest official (non beta release).

I'll recheck the Skydemon settings, but I think they looked good post flight, and have been fine before.

The other thing I forgot to mention is the flight isn't showing up on the Vector chart either.
