Technical Support / Re: Waiting for device
« on: August 21, 2023, 06:50:17 pm »
After several longish flights I think I can confirm that replacing the Rasberry Pi has fixed my intermittent loss of WiFi connection and all is right again.
Thanks for the updated activation code.

I have had similar issues with WiFi disappearing - it's not low wifi power, it completely goes until I reboot the Rosetta. The GPS output to my Trig transponder continues to work and it stays connected to my phones hotspot.
I have now bought a new RPi3b to see if this fixes the problem but can't test it as I'm having trouble getting an activation code from support. Emailed with old and new mac addresses on Thursday but no reply and nobody answers the support phone.

Help! Please!

I checked with a wifi analyzer and it really has gone

It is a Rosetta and all looks good to me on the home page. I had trouble getting the scrren shot as the wifi was only there for a few minutes.
I notice, however, that my Transponder is still receiving GPS data and my phones hotspot still shows paw connected to it.

Technical Support / WiFi disappears

On most of my flights the PAW WiFi disappears after 20 minutes or so. Turning wifi off and on again on my tablet doesn't help - the PilotAware wifi just doesn't appear on the tablet or my phone. Cycling the power to the PAW restores the wifi signal (after the 30 second boot) but it then disappears again after a little while. I think that the unit still has power as it continues to provide GPS data to my Trig transponder. I have tried monitoring the Voltage and Freq values on the Home screen but these are always OK up until the wifi goes and then I obviously can't see them any more.
I am running iGrid but GSM is yellow on the radar screen - my phone doesn't use mobile data when it is connected to the PAW wifi (I'm going to give the Speedify app a try) - but in case there is any data available, my MAC address is B827EB10723A

Any suggestions?

Technical Support / Re: No traffic showing on Radar display

I finally got to the hangar today and immediately saw that it was configured for 4 miles and 2000ft
Changed both to Display All and up popped loads of traffic on the radar screen
I had assumed that the radar settings would be used on the radar display and the Display range settings only used for sending traffic over RS232. It seems a bit odd to use both filters.

TFC ticked or not, it still doesn't show any traffic.
I just ticked POI for the screen shot to show that Gatwick was within scope

Technical Support / No traffic showing on Radar display
« on: June 25, 2023, 06:57:57 pm »
I recently installed an iGrid wifi module and looked at the radar screen to check that GSM was showing.
I noticed that there was no traffic showing so I widened the scope of the display and still nothing appears.
It shows airfields and POI including Crawley but no Gatwick traffic shows.
The traffic display shows loads of traffic but the radar display is empty. Latest beta installed (the radar display kept prompting that an update was available - so I installed it via iGrid)
Is there a setting I have missed?
