OK Peter, I see that Flycom do advertise on their website a black box with audio in and out and that would be the way to go if starting from scratch. I am not sure if the present owners would be as helpful as Dave was.  The short answer for me was to feed the audio into the P2 mic connection in the box and after a bit of experimentation, fed it through a 47Nf capacitor. Pressing the ptt mutes the P2 mic and PAW audio. With this the audio is loud and clear.
As this is a modification, it will not endear you to Flycom of course. If anybody wants to do it I can give more detail.

Technical Support / Re: Audio output connections

I thought I would do the same as Richard for my set up with Dittel KTR and Flycom box, but no luck so far. I have taken  one of the audio outputs to pin 5 (EXT) and S to radio ground. Just get noise with any EXT setting above 0. I don't have an audio in socket on the Flycom but could put one in if I knew where the audio connection should go. Meantime I have ordered a TRRS jack. Maybe someone else has the same set up.

Technical Support / dead usb port and noise on safetycom
« on: February 09, 2018, 11:34:23 pm »
On setting up from new, adsb showed no connection. Only 3 ports showing on the homepage.  Inserted the dongle in the top left port and it was recognised. No room then for the GPS dongle, so swapped it between the wifi one. Problem sorted.
The other problem was white noise on the radio on safetycom. Could not be squelched out. Solved that by swapping the Anker car charger for an old one I had been using before. It is rated at 2.1A . Don't know the make but probably got it at ASDA.
Hope this might help others in setting up.
Next step is to install the new update. Fingers crossed.
John
