Very interesting solution - I am seriously considering it for my SkyDemon.

I do have an EFIS equipped aircraft that is able to display traffic from a serial input (usually ADSB).  Do you have plans for serial output ?

PilotAware support both wired and wireless interfaces

For the wired interface we tend to use the following electrical connection standards
- USB/RS232
- USB/RS422
- USB/Serial-TTL

The interface can be configured in terms of its baud rate
- 4800, 9600, 19200, 57600

and its data content
- GPS NMEA Data
- Flarm NMEA Sentences
- GDL90 Traffic Report (under development)

This has been used to connect to
- Funke
- Trig
- Dynon
- Flarm (as an input traffic receiver)

work is ongoing to support further interfaces.

Could you elaborate on the type of data you require over the serial interface ?

Sounds Fantastic.

My EFIS is Advanced Flight systems - Advanced Deck 5600.  It is supposed to have an interface box for ADSB-In (since it's a US product this would be for weather, traffic, Pilot info), but as far as I can tell, it's connected to the Display Units through a normal RS-232 serial interface.  Probably 9600.  I can check it later.

For Europe, I would only receive traffic information, and if your system provides also Mode C/S + and even FLARM (if a Flarm mouse is connected) then it's only added value.

Quick questions:
Can I install antennas on the outside of the aircraft ?  Should the receiver be on upper or lower fuselage ?  What is best ?
For non-ADSB aircraft - I suppose you can only provide basic information such as there is received a signal?  It would not be direction/altitude etc right ?

We provide extension cables for remote antenna, with/without groundplane.
Of course, you need to check your governing body for doing the actual work.

For Mode C and non-ADS-B-Mode-S, there will be an altitude and a signal strength but no direction.
