Title: Mixing up antennae

I found this interesting, these two traces show the effect of swapping over the extended antennae on a Pilotaware.

There's a minor obscuration issue with the antennas correctly connected...

Yes, thanks, I've been repositioning the antennae to improve the rear view since this trace. We have metal A-pillars, pilots and metal rear fuselage working against us until I can get them mounted underneath.

Was just trying to show the effect of mixing the antennae.

Isn't the sample size for 'mixed up', a bit small to form an opinion? It would imply the days flying was not comparable.

The flights are not identical, but the mixed antennae trace was for a 1 hour cross-country out and back and is significantly worse than even a half hour of circuits with the correct orientation.

I would not have expected that extreme change, but does show that it is important to tune your twigs.

Cheers
