Title: Volume control Knob?
Post by: John Parker on July 07, 2017, 03:07:08 pm
A couple of us are wanting to put a volume control knob on the dash 'for those of us with a permanent fit' instead of on or off.  Sooner than just picking one at random is there on that is more 'matched' the PAW's output specs. Any advice on what pole jack I need and which pole is used.

Many thanks in advance

Hi John,

Lots of info throughout this thread; http://forum.pilotaware.com/index.php/topic,516.msg9106.html#msg9106

Other threads also deal with audio connections; you may have to use the search option.

I don't think you will just be able to use solely a volume control, it may need to be incorporated into an audio amplifier or possibly as part of a Bluetooth set-up if you want to go "wire-free".

Just got the bits to build a simple 'knob' volume control / mixer for mine using a very simple circuit already tried by a colleague at East Fortune to connect PAW to a Flycom intercom. Works great for him so why re-invent the wheel.

I am away from home at the moment but will publish details as soon as I can.
