Hi all,
Just finished assembling and configuring my self build PAW unit, which is a 1.2 board for which I have been sent the non-official released sw.
I configured skydemon to test, and I can see ads-b traffic going into LHR, so that works.
Checking the status screen on the unit however I have reds against TRX and pressure altitude. I am testing from home on the ground, and using the recommended usb power cable, and have tried it plugged into a mains plug with adaptor.
Next to TRX it says 'Unavailable TX=0 RX=0 CRCFAIL=0'
Next to pressure it says 'Unavailable (Manual) QNH=1013mb QNE=0ft GBSS=85ft'
I checked the status both with skydemon connected and "flying", and not, with the same status.
Should I be concerned with the above, or is this normal when testing on the ground. I guess I am more concerned at the moment about the BMP as this is onboard the bridge and would be expecting it to work wherever, whereas I would expect line of sight and signal to be an issue with the TRX on the ground and in a house.
Thanks
Mark

Im awaiting the email from my phone to upload, but looking at the logging page I am seeing lots of
BPM-I2C : HW_FAIL
BMP-I2C : Error: BMP not initialised

Status page screenshot

Also fyi the status lights are flashing green/red/red/green at the moment.
-
This looks like a general comms error between the RPI and the Bridge.
The two main components on the Bridge are
- Radio TX/RX
- BMP
Both are reporting errors.
Can you double check you have the board correctly aligned on all the Pins on the header
What is your power supply ?
Thx

I will double check but I think it would be impossible to close the case if the bridge wasnt on fully.
I have tried a 240v plug to usb with the recommended juicebitz cable, and also a transmart hub using the USB3 fastcharge port.
-
I have tried another usb plug (into mains) and the juicebits cable, same.
-
I opened the case up, confirmed the bridge was aligned properly on the connector and seated it down as firm as possible, and it is the same. I will try removing and putting back on, but if that doesnt work I guess I have a faulty bridge?
-
Same after reseating the bridge, and I also used an anker powerdrive 2 12v adaptor in the car to 100% rule out a power issue.

So do I need to contact someone to get a replacement unit sent out? My license was activated this morning during set up.
Thanks

Contact Dave Styles at PilotAwareHardware.com where it was purchased.
Seems very strange, as these are tested before they are shipped :-\
Thx
